Interesting article.

I think yes, but don't think it will happen.

It's the cup I want.

Yes I'm sure that one day he will get a retrospective one.
How lone did Brian Gleeson wait for his Brownlow?

Yep. Sure Gram would much rather have the premiership medal than the Norm Smith....but I guess if we give joint Brownlows.....

Bloody oath he should get one. Unbelievable that the league thinks it's fine to award multiple Brownlow winners, but decide a Norm Smith on the archaic system of a count back.

I know Grammy couldn't care less right now - but he deserves to be recognised for that game.

He was robbed of it anyway.

Can you imagine any of the three who gave Chapman 3 votes doing so had St Kilda won the game?

The result was a farce.

The thing I don't get is... The player with the most 3's wins it.

Well, it took Gram more of the panel to give him votes to get the same score.

Shouldn't the fact that more of the panel voted for him make him the winner?

3 of the 5 thought Chapman was best on, the other 2 didn't think he was in the best 3.

5 of the 5 thought Gram was worth votes (Four 2 votes and One 1 vote) IIRC.

They awarded Verdun Howell a Brownlow rectivespectively, I dont see why they cant do the same with the Norm Smith.

It is hypcritical and plain idiotic for the AFL to have two best and fairest awards one with countback and the other not.

Plain dumb.

You'd think the fat Cypriot is paid enPugh to fix it!

Anyway, give me a flag over a hundred Norm Smith's or Brownlows!

You are on the money there, but it would be a good thing for the AFL to do and in the right spirit. Down the track, it would be nice for the Trophy cabinet for Jason to look back on. It took half a lifetime for Verdun Howell to be given his retrospective Brownlow Medal, which is a tad too late IMO.

Not long he was the sole winner in 1957 with 24 votes.

Wouldn't that just top it off?

Tow Norn Smith medallists in two consecutive GF but no flag :( :(

Yep. Sure would have. IN fact I'd go as far to say that one's importance is not relevent to the other. It's an injustice that should be corrected.

If Ablett had of won the 08 NS on a count back, you don't reckon hawks ppl would care and want Hodgey awarded with one as well?

I know it make no difference and the flag is all that counts blah blah blah, but GRammy's little spot in history deserves to be acknowledged.
