Rhys Stanley

Post: # 1151816Post PJ »

seriously hope this dude comes good

looked like he had something when he first came in but big fellas do take time to develop

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Rhys just needs games to be able to develop adjust. Another preseason under his belt won't do him no harm either as long as their is no repeats of his new Zealand antics. Ross just never really gave these young guys a real chance.

We should have seen progress this year but he just didn't get on the park often enough.

2012 is just so important for the big guy. He has a heap of potential but if he doesn't show something in year 4 he may struggle to get to year 5.

Knowing our luck Stanley will probably fizzle, along with Cahill and Johnson

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

I think another pre season will do wonders for him , expect him to step up next year and claim a regular spot in the team. I'm really upbeat about the young guys and look forward to Rhys , Ledger , Cripps and Crocker having a huge impact on the team next year ....

He has potential, but im not sure his best is going to be good enough to take us to premiership #2. His kicking is suspect and he struggles to hold on to marks and there are question marks on his pace.

Hopefully a solid pre season will help sort these issues. Maybe a new coach will help him blossum?

Question marks on his pace? Like - will he win his second grand final sprint on Saturday?

His skills are terrific for a big fella also, great field kick. Do you actually know anything about Rhys Stanley?

OK a bit harsh on you - I agree he needs to clunk his marks...he definitely needs more faith shown in him by the new coach.

You really let yourself down with that comment. Hard to take the rest of your post seriously.

The guy has already won one GF sprint and is favourite to take out a 2nd. the fact that he's even in the GF sprint indicates a fair amount of pace.

I agree. I thought we were going to see some of that this year.

I hope he has learned a lot following the incident in NZ in the preseason and I hope his injuries have settled down and we get to see him out on the park next year. Lets see if he can deliver on his potential

i remember the mark he took in front of pav by reaching over and grabbing it in the NAB

if he wants it hard enough he can be a very good player in the future

someone mentioned that getting into the grand final sprint is evidence of pace? do you realise dean cox is in it this season? being in it and winning it are two very different things..

Hey champ. Please refer to the winner of the GF sprint 2009.

Yours sincerely,

Isn't the Grand Final Sprint a handicapped thing?

My apologies champ. I was being sarcastic.

Stawell Gift is run over Easter.

and as for Rhys Stanley being slow...no, he is a winnerof the GF sprint ('09) due to being very fast.

P.S. The GF sprint has had a handicap in recent years but handicap or no handicap...he is still very fast.

Well what was his handicap. If i got 40 metres over Dean Cox, then im sure id beat him too. Rhys Stanley winning the Stawell Gift and GF Final Sprint doesn't mean that much i dont think.
