Haha! But I still can't understand why Bruce took the sparkling away from Swannie...Dr Spaceman wrote:Tongue in cheek?martymcfly_86 wrote:It was a tongue in cheek comment.
I know Bruce had a problem letting go of Swannie's hand but that's going way too far
"Whoa Doc, this is heavy." - Marty McFly following Ross Lyon's departure
I didn't mind the line, but was more peeved by Dal being called by Bruce as a surprise packet.
Dal has generally polled well, has now polled top five thrice and I think runner-up twice?
He had a standout year this year and but for a few too many losses early on when oppo teams took the votes he could easily have won this.
Showed me how under-valued we were as a team this year that Dal wasn't considered - and I think he was about $26 still on the day?

I think it was stupid, and offensive to the professionalism of the club over the past 10 years.
I've seen dozens of players out at bars and clubs over the past couple of years, putting booze away like it's going out of fashion, but I've only ever seen one Saints player - and he wasn't even drinking.
I'm sure they do go out and have a beer, but if I was building stereotypes about players' drinking and parting based on what I've personally seen, the Saints are the best by a mile.
I found it ignorant and offensive.

See that's what I think too.Johnny Member wrote:I think it was stupid, and offensive to the professionalism of the club over the past 10 years.

But you whine about it and the hack scribes leap all over St Kilda whinging rather that allude to the slobby tardiness of commentators who have been around far too long, are a stale as all get out, but smug in the knowledge that networks are loathe to make commenatary changes out of terror of upsetting middle australia's fear of anything resembling change...
McAvaney's constant drooling over stars and over-emotive and horribly sickly sweet sentiment is - apart from boringly repetitive - REALLY creepy.
The bloke makes my skin crawl.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Bruce has his favourites.
Who could forget his famous call as Chris Grant missed a shot at goal in the dying minutes of a tight match "Ooooh Carey would have kicked that!!".
StKilda is also clearly not a favourite.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

What was that "special" show Bruce had about 10 years ago in prime time on 7?
He would interview famous sporting people.
Well actually he would dribble all over them.
The most sickening one was his interview of Carl Lewis.
Lewis never had a chance to speak as Bruuuce gushed on and on.
"Oh Carl I remember at Berkely Uni when you ran 9.865 into 2.414metres per sec head wind that was so speeeecial, and then your 4th leg in US team relay time trials where you made up a 0.493 sec deficit to win by 0.043, ooh that was special, and the time you ......"
Nauseating!

You can listen to Bristle tell you Carlton are still a massive chance at 28 points down with two minutes to go, you can listen to him tell you all about Lorne, or you can watch a monkey on a pushbike...I know which I prefer...
