he probably had a get out clause in his contract...inserted by the coach...

may be that's why he might leave ...didn't like being inserted by the coach

Would be a terrible shame if he does, just as he was beginning to hit his straps.

I imagine Tommy may have headed home to Ireland to spend some time with his family before the pre-season training starts. Seems a reasonable thing to do.

Tommy intends to play AFL next season. Yes he is Ireland at the moment.
He hasnt signed yet but will return to Australia . hHe will most likely return as a member of the Irish International Rules squad heading to take on the AFL end of next month.

It's funny how someone like, say, Tom Ledger goes back to WA at the end of the season and no one thinks anything of it.

But Tommy Walsh goes back to Ireland and suddenly people start thinking he's given up and returned home for good

I think considering the talent of the guy, his supposed speed and agility, he should be given a chance in the seniors. I don't think he's your everyday run-of-the-mill player and time is passing by. How long has he been with us now? Surely he'd make a better defender than say......Dawson
