What's wrong with Teague?

His cv certainly looks all right. I recall him as a tough and cluey player. has coached in the VFL and in 2 years made 2 GFs, and then went off to be the assistant coach at a club which went straight from the bottom of the table in one year to a PF in the next.

Seems pretty similar to the cv of Watters and others whose names have been bandied about.

Some on here seem to know an enormous amount about the likely coaching abilities at AFL level of a bunch of blokes who have never actually coached at AFL level. How do you all do it? ESP?

No, not ESP, I happen to know people who have dealt with him and heard that he is a dead set dick-head, is that ok?
Presumably none of these people have anything to do with the Eagles, who seem to be quite happy with him.

Cluey player?, the blues retired him at age 26 when they were by far the worst team in the comp, he was courageous but not a smart footballer by any stretch…

I presume you are right,

Not having a go at you, but from what I know about this bloke, he will never be a senior AFL coach, I could always be wrong…

The interesting selection by the dogs brings Leon Cameron into the picture.

Crikeys - i agree with saint pav. But I agree that sounds like a decent short-list for interviews.

A very good list but Burns isn't over the line at Adelaide yet. I'd slot him into 2nd place behind Richardson !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

On Thursday night I listed, Richardson, Watters and Rob Harvey. Now I would add Sanderson, Burns and maybe Cameron.

(I've taken out Roos and Bomber Thompson)

Look, maybe Brendan McCartney is an absolute champion bloke who simply blew the Doggies selection panel away with his presentation.

However I reckon they would've loved to appoint Leon Cameron and the fact they didn't causes me to doubt he's the one for us.

Just as I think other clubs would have doubts about Rob Harvey if we interviewed him and passed him over.

Malthouse

Post: # 1144787Post nw7 »

Mick Malthouse might just fall in our laps, he is a great coach, we shouldnt look at a complete re build for the next 2 years. If Malthouse wants to coach in 2013 no jobs will be available I think he will have to coach someone next season and will do something after the GF. Go through the list of clubs and coaches its only Saints, Crows and Blues left. Crows may go for Burns, Blues seem to want Ratten for 2 years so its just the Saints left. The planets might align for us this time.

You're probably right, maybe Cameron is not the one - also could be like Lyon/Longmire - an outsider tips out the fave, but both are good coaches
So I included Cameron in my updated list.

Also added Burns in case Sanderson tips him out for the Croweaters job.

I'm sure during his time with us that it was mentioned he had no desire to be a senior coach.

Of course his attitude may have changed.

Or I could simply be wrong :P

I don't want him, but if he wants to coach again he will need our job. A year out of the comp at 76 means he will be lucky to be let out of a nursing home let alone back into the AFL.

Gary Ayres deserves another crack at AFL level.... The only time Neil Craig was a good coach was when he was playing with Gary Ayre's team... Gary just didn't get to enjoy the fruits of his labour in Adelaide.

Either that or Tudor or SOS. They both already know the list really well...

That would fulfill our fag quest at least…

I reckon there will be more vacancies next year, there usually is and clubs aren't scared to break a contract these days.

If Richmond or Carlton missed the finals next year, both would look for new coaches I would think…

Mark Harvey's name hasn't been mentioned...

Is he too mentally shot after the crazy circumstances around his sacking?

Don't know if Mark Harvey will be in the mix, and get a chance to present

Still would rather him than Malthouse, Eade or Laidley
