Will you really burn/cancel membership if MM comes?
Ok, I know he's not confirmed, nor is anyone. But for some of the forummers here, they're already saying that they'll burn/cancel their membership, or stop supporting the Saints altogether if MM arrives.
Will you guys really do that? I mean, yeah, he's been more than nasty to the Saints for lots of occasions, and he's coaching the most hated club in Australia. And he might ask for lots of money just to come and coach the Saints.
But come to think of it, he's really a quality coach isn't he? And to be really honest, I think membership numbers might just go up a notch if he comes. I don't know about you guys, but I'm all for his arrival to SKFC. FQF.

I will stand by the club no matter who coaches us.
Having said that I do not want Mick Malthouse, his coaching record is so greatly inflated due to the support staff that has been provided for him at both West Coast and Collingwood.
For me there are 3 options...
1 - Go for Paul Roos, the only coach with previous experience who I think is worth pursuing.
2 - We go for the best candidate from current assistant coaches.
3 - We ask Banger to coach us, why the hell not? we've tried bringing in premiership coaches, we've tried the unknown assistants... why not give a favourite son a go...

The idea of tearing up memberships if Malthouse comes - or Laidley or Eade or others who some on here have arced up about - is extremely silly and I doubt that they mean it.
However, I do agree that Malthouse's behaviour towards Milne was especially dreadful: not because he called Milne what he called him (which I
see as merely sledging after Milne had gotten up his nose) but the subsequent insinuations about having talked to the woman involved, etc, etc. It's a pretty long way back from there if he ever has to work with Milne again.
But it could presumably be sorted out. Or Milne could move on.
Or are the posters on here who are threatening to resign suggesting that Milne is more important to them than the club? Strange attitude.

I will protest in the strongest terms - letters/emails etc.
I would certainly cancel my sponsorship.
Burning the membership?
- I know I threatened it. But not sure if I really would.
Would certainly become a "negative" supporter.
A "bag the coach at every opportunity" supporter (like sone posters here).

I will always love the club but I will not support the decision (i it happens) to employ a peice of human garbage like Malthouse.
I would very seriously think about not finaincially supporting the club, membership included, for as long as Malthouse is with us

Are we trying to win a flag or trying to appease Milney? They are both grown men, I am certain that if MM turned up at our club he would sit down and have a cup of coffee with Milney and they would sort it out. Things were said in the heat of the moment in the middle of a footy ground.
Sometimes I wonder if ppl actually care whether we win a flag, but are more concerned about individuals. Why in Gods name would the club appoint banger as coach? Because he was a champion of our club? Why not make Nathan Burke assistant coach while we're at it - hang on wait - we can make him pres and Andrew Thompson can be footy manager. I mean stuff it trying to get the best ppl in, let's make it a saints love in. At least we can trust them

Good post!
Hope we get MM.... would make things a whole lot more interesting!
Won't happen but how good would it be to stick it up McGuire if by some miracle we won the premiership!!
Which type of traits in a coach would you prefer:
1.
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Leadership
- Professionalism
- Development
or
2.
- Mercenary
- Ruthlessness
- Undermining
- Arrogance
- Blatant belief that you are always right
Both types of traits have positives in terms of success in history but as a supporter and more importantly as a player which type of person would you follow?
If it is type 2 then it does fly in the face of what our club is supposed to be in terms of motto, club culture and supporter community.
I am not saying there is a right or wrong answer but I know that I follow this club for particular reasons and I may get laughed at but it is not 100% about winning flags (only 99.99%) otherwise I would have switched to another club a long time ago.
I love our motto, I love our colours, I love our team, I love the purpose we have been striving for even though lately it sometime feels like it is has been tainted.
MM is not the devil incarnate but if he did consider coming over he would have to clean up the upset he caused by being a man and acknowledging his actions and the effect they have had (on Milne and the supporters).
Same goes for RL, he 'was' a great coach but regardless of the contract negotiation shennanigans he burnt us all by his actions and the consequence of this is that we think he is an untrustworthy bastard and we now doubt alot of what he did while he was at the club. He can help heal the wounds in time by also acknowledging what he did (at least to the supporters) and the affect it has had on the St Kilda football club instead of acting like an arrogant prick.
I don't hold too much hope for this eventuating but it is good to dream.
Supporting this club financially through memberships, etc is an investment of the heart and spirit, not just about achieving success at all costs. I invest in this great club because it agrees with me and I get enjoyment out of it, when those 2 things look shaky I have to seriously think about recommiting that investment.
Anyways, thats my 2 cents. Off the soapbox now...

At this point, I would wait ten years for a guaranteedragit wrote:I will burn down our new 12mil$ training facilities…
b.t.w. I hope everyone would be willing to wait ten years like the pies did, if he'd been cut when the Buckley deal went through we'd all think he is a washed up failure.
right place, right time.
