Paul Roos/Brett Rattan
On BF there is a rumour going on that Rattan is about to be 'harveyed' and replaced by Paul Roos.
Would be consider a Rattan/R. Harvey coaching team?
Their midfield improved dramatically as did their potential under rattan and harvey before banger asked to come back to st kilda.
Rattan has done a marvellous job rebuilding the blues in the post pagan/brittan era, and pagan was basically top filling the blues with has beens?
For me, I highly rate Rattan as a foe, as a player and a coach.
If the blues are that stupid should be leap on the rat?

No. He's not smart enough IMO. Tries hard though.Dan Warna wrote:On BF there is a rumour going on that Rattan is about to be 'harveyed' and replaced by Paul Roos.

Wouldn't touch Ratten if I were you. Be more inclined to take someone unproven, for e.g. Richardson with proven list development skills, or another one of the Pies / former Pies assistants.Dan Warna wrote:On BF there is a rumour going on that Rattan is about to be 'harveyed' and replaced by Paul Roos.

Dan, I normally like your work, but your comment that the Blues midfield improved under Ratten........!!
Well, yes it did and I'll give you one guess as to why it improved (clue: rhymes with the surname of the Prime Minister before Gillard).

That's an old rumour and I would't be surprised at all.Dan Warna wrote:On BF there is a rumour going on that Rattan is about to be 'harveyed' and replaced by Paul Roos.

Think Ratten is about the worst coach going round, their midfield improving has a bit to do with Gibbs, Murphy, Judd, Kreuzer & Warnock.
The blues have had more top 10's than Beatles plus the best player in the comp, yet they are still a long way of the pace. I hope they keep Ratten as he'll keep them from winning a flag…
How on earth they can continue to recruit expensive players and pretend be within the salary cap is amazing, surely these crooks couldn't possibly have any room left to chase any more marquee players?

Why? So we can continue to alienate potential fans with football which is as dull as a dog's arse plus add in the systematic cheating and staging for frees which Roos inculcated at the Swans?Moorabbin Man wrote:I think WE want to be going after Roos.
No thanks. Sorry.

I thought he coached well?
Not saying his a good fit for us, but I don't get the hate.
Last year they had 11 wins, this year 14.5.
Last year they were eliminated week one of the finals, this year they made it to another week.
Almost progressed through to the prelims, without Gibbs, Kruezer or Waite.
....and Judd was pretty quiet.
If they sacked him, well....that would probably be a fitting end to this week in football.

I replied on another thread when you wrote the same comment....Megsie wrote:Don't remember Harvey being "asked" back to st.kilda.
Thought assistant coaches were culled by the blues at the end
of last year. Harvey included.
If he wasn't invited - how did he come back - appoint himself
Harvey's contract not renewed does not mean he was a rubbish asst coach.....
Carlton also released Montgomery and Lappin (Teague had a P/T role as North Bullants coach and sought a F/T coaching job) They were not discarded to the footy scrapheap.
Harvey went to last year's runner up
Teague is asst coach at WCE
Montgomery was in the mix for the Port job and is now asst at WB
Lappin went to last year's premiers
Every year there is a merry go round of assistants changing clubs, some of these guys like Barker, Montgomery, Richardson and Wellman are quite young, yet have been to 2-3 clubs at least..
No Contract, No contact
