lol, 'career coach' i find that a funny comment
Don't think he fully realises the ramifications of his actions. They all look to be on the defensive and the media is attacking them hell for leather.
It is one thing to leave a club, it is another to poach another coaches job whilst he was still sitting in that position.
Freo were hedging their bets. If they honestly felt Harvey was not leading them in the right direction, why not sack him before going after Lyon...??
Going to be a rough ride for Mr Lyon and the Freo board. Glad it is not our problem anymore. I am really looking forward to the future for our club now. Couldn't care less about Lyon or Freo. Thanks Ross and good luck. You are surely going to need it........

Didnt he say something along the lines of it was not appropriate to talk about his contract while the season was on.Ice Wolf wrote:Funny seeing as in April they all agreed (Ross, his management and St Kilda) to wait untill the end of the seasonwolfpup wrote:looked like ross was really annoyed about not getting a contract extension in april

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Notes:
* Spoke first after Freo's last game.
* Spoke again after the saints finals loss.
* 3 Days of talking this week. Sealed it.
* Headhunted by Freo.
* Decision made yesterday afternoon.
* Ross used the exit clause.
* Isn't fussed about his integrity.
* Used a Lawyer instead of ESP. Conflict of interest worries.
* Apparently not doing it for the money.
* Spoke to 3 players. Roo for 20 minutes at the hospital, Hayes at his house and someone else. Answered a few text messages.

It was said by Ross Lyon himself 5 minutes ago in the presser. I do agree with you plugger. Good luck to Ross, he is certainly going to need it.plugger66 wrote:By the media or by RL and his management. Obviously thought long and hard about it...not. If this is true, then he's a bit more impulsive than he looks. I'd rather assume he'd been fielding tenders from other clubs during the season.PakenhamSaint wrote:Notes:

I heard him say he wanted a new contract and it was discussed in April. Never heard him say he wanted to leave it till the end of the year.saint75 wrote:It was said by Ross Lyon himself 5 minutes ago in the presser. I do agree with you plugger. first discussion with ross was 4th sept
planned to get him in 2013
spoke to him after the syd game
had out clause
3 days of discussions this week
doesnt feel him stabbed harvey in the back
was headhunted by freo
is an afl career coach
had no involvement in the decision about harvey
reached agreement yesterday in a very short space of time after ross saying to saints he is going
ross so far has said stuff all except he is a career coach and didnt stab harvey in the back
ross: saints wrote in the 6 month exit in contract. done nothing unlawful, clause was for him and both clubs
wonderful 5 years for both parties
(big gulp when asked about loyalty and integrity)
point of conjecture about telling players he was staying
said he used the clasue in contract
asked for 4 year deal with no conjecture, only got that yesterday
used other people to do the deal
esp and him mutually agreed for him to leave
freo spoke to dimwit and expressed they wernt happy with his comments
and he is ill informed
freo think that there is loyalty in footy and expectations to members.
reached decision to get rid of harvey yesterday arvo
players at freo wernt consulted, and were informed yesterday arvo just before the media release and are being briefed right now.
ross: sit very comfortable with unconditional commitment to st kilda, all ive done is exercise op that arose, want security and resources
done the right thing by himself and family.
in my 5 years at st kilda ive never used the word loyalty to a player
wont speak about money, freo say its not a financial decision by ross
ross: both parties leave hungry for a premiership and both parties have the chance
decide what you want to be, every moment of the day you must persue excellence
what it is is what it is
i was headhunted by the freo
it wasnt my desire to make that position
certainly there is strong empathy
spoke to 3 players
roo, drove up to hospital, just come out of recovery, had an emotional 20 mins, thats for me and nick to share, drove to lennys house, then replied to text messges that were sent to him...didnt say the third player.
ross: im not here to debate the values that exist in football
is this a list you think should play in finals in 2012?
ross: wont make outlandish predictions
strong pre seasons
strong leadership group
we're in the business to win premierships
had a great time at st kilda
ive moved on
judge me on my future actions
freo fans who think i stabbed harvey in the back are entitled to their opinions
hasnt spoke to playing group
wont speak to them today
nice purple tie
was self evident after syd game it was an end of an era
freo professionally locked and loaded a deal in 72 hrs, where as saints took too long
asked if he had a say in the four players that 'retired'
wasnt a universal decision by him.
