IF this proves true Greg Westaway if **** gone. Leven should b gone. Nettlefold, Thompson the whole figgin lot can ferk off.

I can not believe IF this is true that our Board could be so incompetent and allow this to happen.

Should have been stitched up months ago AND why on earth would you allow a clause that basically means the last year is null and void anyway?
AS IF !
what crap.

no way they would offer same money for 4 years.

bet that will come out as rubbish.
One fact cant be ignored - THIS BOARD allowed the negotiations to wait till this long AND allowed Lyon to insert a get out clause into his contracts that makes the final year a joke.

THATS A FACT and hardly what Id call smart...

AND appointed Pelchen without notice and made Ross Lyon answerable to him and took away his authority

smart move NOT

this was the moment the relationships really fragmented between Ross Lyon and the incompetent clowns who run the club

remember Westaway in 2008 making noises in the press about being concerned with our style of play

the numbnut should have STFU

then the get out clause gets inserted

then it's down to "spirit of the contract"

the board ******* this up monumentally

not surprising all the clueless nuffies bagging Lyon

Wasnt Westaway also the one to come out in 2008 and say he wanted Ross to coach us for 10 years?

Could have sworn that:

a) Pelchen and Lyon were seen having coffee a couple of weeks before the announcement, this would suggest that Lyon knew what was happening.

b) Club originally offered Lyon a contract 2 months ago but when he went to new management, Kelly his manager wanted to start afresh in contract negotiations.

c) Both the club and Lyon's management had come to terms yesterday. Both parties had tried to get in contact with him, including today. Lyon was not able to be reached.

For me Lyon double-crossed:

1. The Club
2. His management
3. The players
4. Mark Harvey
5. The fans

Lyon is to blame for this. NO ONE ELSE

You are 100% spot on.

I'm not sure how our board is copping a mighty hard whack here.

His management team who were negotiating on his behalf came to an agreement with the club for a 4 year extension.

This shouldn't be underedtimated, instructed us to deal with his management team and and as late as today his management team were acting under instructions he wanted to stay.

So in one foul swoop he has adversely affected companies he had commercial agreements with, has left us without a coach, left his management team with one less client and one of their clients without a job.

So our board is at fault that we weren't able to come to an agreement with a character who would act with this level of bad faith.

In the end it seems to have come down to cold hard cash, unless you think we should have offered more than 7.5mil over 5 years I don't think you can blame the board here. Lyon wanted his market value and wasn't going to sign anywhere till he had his auction.

Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.

[quote="Newman"]Here Here! As Keith McGowan said in a letter to the club ...

Dear Sir. S.O.S ! Same Old Saints. When will you ever learn ? Ross Lyon should have been tied up months ago. He has guided us through a magnificent era. A “bouncing ball from a Premiershipâ€

You may be right Buckets, but your analysis allows us no opportunity to slime that numbnuts Westaway.

Westaway showed plenty of solidarity with Lyon when the wolves were circling in mid 2008.

I don't think the board was the main factor here.

Do something positive and turn this thing around if you believe you have the answers.

Sack the board!

Get out of Seaford!

The most positive outcome we could hope for!

They are incompetent and clueless!
