Dear Mr Lyon what do i tell my 6 year old?

Post: # 1139642Post older saint »

I have a 6 year old mad saint supporter , lives for the saints and actually knows a lot about them for his age.
I have taught him his word is more important than most things, you say you will do something you do yor best to do so.
How do i answer the question tomorrow morning when i tell him and he says he had a year to go on his contract?

Character of a person is judged by how they carry themselves in bad times and what value you place in their word.

Jumping ship and no value on word? Love a statement to prove this wrong.

It was a business decision and wasn't controlled by emotion :(

I couldn't care less - look after yourself, he would say! I'm really pissed off about the lack of integrity here.

Just tell your kid that Ross took up a better option at Freo. No need to beat around the bush, im sure he will understand.

At the end of the day a job is a job, one day you will be a man. If the Plumber, Accounting firm, school, hospital or whatever it is down the road offers you a massive deal to work for them you would be negligent not too consider it, your wellbeing and that of your family must always be at the forefront of your decisions in life!

You support a football club, not the people in it, wear the colors with pride and support all who are involved when they are involved!

Maybe this year?

He's a coach......not a world leader

Tell the kid always hold out for the biggest dollar and never ever let anything you say in the meantime get in the way of the almighty dollar.

And when your 6 year old eventually walks out at Etihad or the G and gets booed and howled down as a dirty rotten rat like RL will, tell them to harden up, that they had already done some deals with other clubs for big dollars and that is all that matters even though they had said they would follow the .....meh just give the kid a donut.

You tell him why does he even care who coaches the club. It is about the players. Sounds like emotional crap to me. Why would a 6 year old care if a coach left?

What do you tell your 6 yo? Well, I guess you will tell him what parents have told 6 yo's in the last 45 years, and what they told 6 yo's for the first 69 years of our history. There's always next year and we are hopeful. Other than that, eat your vegetables and don't drink or smoke.

Because they actually get attached to people who are attached to the club.

You haven't had kids?

Mine loved Spider, Bazza, Plugga, Cuz, Mick Frost etc.

Shattered when they left.

You really are a dumb f***.

I am shattered for you I am glad my 4yr old is still too young to understand - I just had to tell my 38 yr old husband on the phone as he got off the plane - I think I heard his scream of "what" from here - it seems that integrity isn't a known word to he who must not be named!

Tell your son that:
- St Kilda once went 18 years without playing finals
- Life works in shades of grey rather than in black and white
- Hold the people you love very close and tell them that you love them

That should get him off to a good start

Must say my daughter went to the loo about to go to sleep when I heard the news. I didn't want her upset before bedtime and worried about it so I will tell her tomorrow. Never underestimate how much little kids take in!

Nice response. When will you learn to read. I mentioned he wasnt a player. By the way I do have a child but she never got excited about GT or Stan Alves. She liked the players as it seems yours did or were kids into Allan Jeans and Graham Gellie. You make Forrest Gump sound smart sometimes.
