As a club we seem doomed to repeat our mistakes. It's f***ed.

Bloody disappointing.

According to journo's on Twitter, some members of the Saints board did not like Ross Lyon's style.

Memo to board members: it's not about liking people. You are in the business of results on the football field, and Ross got results.

To let him go is a massive failure of administration.

My understanding is that he works everyone hard and keeps his cards close to his chest, something that kills more coaches than anything. Boards freak out when they are out of the loop, especially if they are hearing about cutting deep and such.

Carlton lost theirs in 1979 the same year

You put that in another thread. While I admire your optimism, you're dreaming.

IF the Board had a hand in **** this up then there's the door.

Just sick of "upheavals at St Kilda".

Last year it was off field mess.
The seasons a week over and we are again "the circus" sick to **** death of this...

Cant see whats been f***ed up, 4 years is a great deal in coaching and it included a payrise! Melbourne has a lower cost of living and more opportunity to earn through media etc outside the club!

Lyon chose to leave, end of story.

He was a good coach and served us well, not he messiah though!

Maybe this year?

I'm with you - I was really pleased with the stability that the Saints had finally managed to develop and now we've had the rug pulled out from under our feet.
Bloody mongrel.

What happens now????

Is it the same d**kheads on the Board who were lamenting us making the 97 GF because it stopped them from sacking Stan Alves, because they didn't like him. Roll the Board!!!!

All four coaches of the 2010 preliminary finals will be gone from their coaching positions after this finals series...
