Jason Blake poised to make history - must stay
He is a life member of the club.
He is on 199 games.
He is a more than handy defender.
He can fill in as a ruckman.
He is unselfish and hard.
He gets to the right places.
He knows and sticks to the game plan.
He is a loyal and reliable servant of the club.
AND
He is poised to become the first ever 200 game player to NOT win a single career Brownlow vote.
If there is ANY sentiment in footy, Blake must stay and fulfill his destiny.

Let's hope not.mr six o'clock wrote:He may get a vote for that game he came back into the team for late in the season, he had almost 30 touches , was rock solid , and was clearly in our best players that day .

If he does I expect a decent reaction from the boys. Wonder if they are aware of this stat.Enrico_Misso wrote:Let's hope not.mr six o'clock wrote:He may get a vote for that game he came back into the team for late in the season, he had almost 30 touches , was rock solid , and was clearly in our best players that day .

Gee, I wish we had a bloke in the lower levels who started off at full back but was now proving to be a more than handy goal kickerstkildathunda wrote:Well actually Gaertner has been tearing it up down here. 5th on the goal kicking list with 51 goals from 19 games  :shock:Dr Spaceman wrote:Gaertner?stkildathunda wrote:Why is it any player that looks like being delisted is all sudden rumored to be off to GWS.  :shock:Old Mate wrote:Ive heard rumors that he may be going to GWS next year

As we know, this year's Draft is not great. Any trades will be focused on Forwards, Ruck, Mids.
Anything may happen this year with de-listings and Trades, including potentially Gilbert & Polo. With Jimmy's date of return well into the year and with Bakes de-listed, then Blake would be a handy "safe-bet" back-up that should not cost us a lot.

If i was hawthorn i would put a 2 year deal down in front of Jason
All they need is a key defender and they would have a very good side. Jason would be a perfect fit for them late in his career allowing josh gibson to be freed up a bit. I hope we don't let him go. He amazes me how he continues to improve even late in his career
