Ray Gamble Peake & Polo ...Re-sign?
Ray Gamble Peake and Polo are yet to resign
ie re-sign contracts for next season
Given we are not rolling in it financially at present do we resign or delist any/all?
what priority order would you put them in ?
Gamble Ray Polo then Peake for me with Gamble for delisting

The keeping order for mine is: Ray, Peake, Polo...
Gamble doesn't even get on the list... He should not be retained under any circumstances... Polo is close to his level, but was occasionally serviceable, so he gets on the list...
However, realistically, we're not going anywhere with Polo in the side, so I'd be ditching him too... Or at the very least, giving pretty much every player on the list an opportunity ahead of him next year, and retain him as severe injury crisis back-up only...
Ray's handy enough, and is in our best 22... Needs to step up the output next year...

So with the departure of Blake, Baker, Gardiner, Eddie and McQualter, add those 4 thats a hell of a lot of drafting to be done.Saints 2012 wrote:get rid of the 4 of them, all D grade players
Peake and Ray should stay, the other 2 you would want to make sure you have better replacements, otherwise they should stay on the list.
I love this club

I'd look at who potentially could push them out, and see how desperate the club is for guys that play their position.
Gamble would be competing with Siposs, Walsh, Lynch...even Cripps as a small forward/mid?
Polo would likely hand back to Lenny, but there is also Ledger that looks likely as an inside mid, and Armo that can play inside.
Farren and Peake have the least competition for spots I think, Winmar?

Ray showed so much promise in the first half of 09. Played some genuine high quality games.
Fast forward two years time, and you would be hard pressed to know he is even out on the ground. He has become invisible, and irrelevant
Peake plays some handy games, but is another who's skills are an abomination. Keep him before Polo and Gamble however
Polo is a nothing player,a gap filler. That's what he was recruited for I guess. He tries hard, but is yet another player with horrible foot skills. We have far to many, possibly the worst kicking side I have ever seen
Gamble- Was another donation to the TAB

Ray could go to GWS.
He was a high draft pick initially (9 I think).
We may get a decent concession pick at a time when any reasonably high pick will be gold.
It may represent a win/win.
That said, I think he adds something to our side with his run and carry and he's a reasonable mark when his time comes. He's also toughened up a heap. I'm not sure the criticism of him in this thread is fair to be honest.
Gamble can go simply because Sipposs and Walsh are now more relevant.
Polo should stay. He treasured his spot, never shirked it and Ross would see value in a hard nut sticking around to haggle with Cripps, Crocker and Ledger for a spare mid spot.
Peake has done enough this year to warrant an extension for a year. He's been better than Gram.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

No one else is going to GWS. Quoted from their CEO.
