Will the media have it in for us then!! How dare we not inform them of everything and be up front!!

no mileage for him in coming out now and saying something. he can use the speculation as leverage in his negotiations with both parties. he's excused for acting out of self-interest in contract negotiations - the rest of us would do it.plugger66 wrote:To be perfectly honest all RL has to do is say he going to stick out his contract. Maybe now the season is over he has nothing better to do with his time but sit back and watch the media jump through hoops to break a non existent story? I bet he would find that pleasing!bergholt wrote:no mileage for him in coming out now and saying something. he can use the speculation as leverage in his negotiations with both parties. he's excused for acting out of self-interest in contract negotiations - the rest of us would do it.plugger66 wrote:To be perfectly honest all RL has to do is say he going to stick out his contract. Well really, him and the club have both told the world categorically that he's staying next year.bergholt wrote:no mileage for him in coming out now and saying something. he can use the speculation as leverage in his negotiations with both parties. he's excused for acting out of self-interest in contract negotiations - the rest of us would do it.plugger66 wrote:To be perfectly honest all RL has to do is say he going to stick out his contract. He's said 'nothing's changed' and he's still 'committed as ever', whilst the club has said 'he's contracted for next year' and that they don't expect that to change.
So really, if he does stay, they could both easily just turn around and say 'well what's all the fuss about? We told you already'.
That's when the media will go feral on us......moreso!

Yup, if I were him I'd have a coffee somewhere public with Garry Lyon too... would add 50k to his annual salary right there.bergholt wrote:no mileage for him in coming out now and saying something. he can use the speculation as leverage in his negotiations with both parties. he's excused for acting out of self-interest in contract negotiations - the rest of us would do it.plugger66 wrote:To be perfectly honest all RL has to do is say he going to stick out his contract. I havent heard RL say he was staying. Not once. If he did it wouldnt be a story. And whay would the Saints say that to the media if he stays. lets face it it seems that the club arent 100% sure at the moment.Johnny Member wrote:Well really, him and the club have both told the world categorically that he's staying next year.bergholt wrote:no mileage for him in coming out now and saying something. he can use the speculation as leverage in his negotiations with both parties. he's excused for acting out of self-interest in contract negotiations - the rest of us would do it.plugger66 wrote:To be perfectly honest all RL has to do is say he going to stick out his contract. Lyon has a contract. Which unless stated otherwise, surely means he's staying!plugger66 wrote:I havent heard RL say he was staying. Not once. If he did it wouldnt be a story. In reality, if you have a contract for next season, and state that 'you're committed as ever', then isn't that pretty much straight forward?
As for the club, again, what more can they say? He has a contract. What more can they do?
Give him extension? They just did last year didn't they?!

What, you think if ink had not dried on the page that Ross would be saying goodbye to the club and players already?bergsone wrote:Not been done YETInkerSaint wrote:Gary Lyon on MMM right now scoffing at the Kim Hagdorn report... total bulls***. Deal has NOT been done yet.

3 months notice though, from reports.
So if he leaves, he can't start there until the New Year which is pretty funny!

I dont get what you think the media reaction will be if he stays. It will be all positive but if goes it may not be and fair enough to.Johnny Member wrote:Man, I'm talking about the media reaction when/if he stays.barks4eva wrote:Johnny Member wrote: Lyon has a contract. That just means 3 months pay… there is no way in the world he would hang around until the New Year if he is leaving…Johnny Member wrote: 3 months notice though, from reports.
