Before anyone gets too caught up in the 'our skills are terrible, we need to get rid of these guys and get skilled players to the club' thing, there needs to be a significant change in Ross Lyon's thinking.

He's recruited all of these guys. And the ones that he didn't recruit, he's continued to select.

It's not a coincidence that these guys are still making the same mistakes they've been making since they first stepped on to the field, yet they still play each week.

It seems, from afar, that he recruits and selects certain types of players. He's done it from day one. What we see as serious flaws, must not be high on his list of things that are critical to success.

So if he's the one rebuilding the team, I can't see why anything would change in that regard unless he changes his thinking about the way the game needs to be played.

He didn't recruit Gram. Nor Gilbert. Peake yes. Jones yes. Polo yes.
