Ya a change I would not mind... maybe Riewoldt will play better without the pressure of skipper on him.
Would love if it went to Lenny.... So glad Lenny is back next season
What about BJ? I honestly think (with no bias) that he would be able to do it... the way he plays football.. so much passion..

We are pinning our hopes on a thirty two year old coming off a knee to take over that all important position as captain
Question
Will lenny play any differently or better if he is made captain???
Why is it so difficult to understand tjat riewoldt has been our second most successful captain, has won two best and fairests as captain and been all australian captain...
He needs a new game plan (as do the rest pf the team) so he can actually get a kick.....because at the minute ross is killing him....and his knee needs a rest

Captaincy is not a job you keep for your whole career...Roo is struggling...he should do the team thing and let someone else have a go at it..........BigMart wrote:We are pinning our hopes on a thirty two year old coming off a knee to take over that all important position as captain

He had to do something...BigMart wrote:The captaincy of the side.....is possibly our least important issue
Game plan, disposal, structure, ball movement and run.....are more concerning
Btw....did you see roo clash with mattner......act of a true leader....
If you feel that way about all those other issues then why give a f*ck about Roo being captain or not....can't have it both ways...deflective argument....

While Roo may be a great off field leader, I've gotten the impression that his constant struggles throughout the year has demoralised the side more times than not. You need someone to lift the side off the back of their performance and unfortunately Roo didn't deliver on that front this year.
I still think he should be captain (has been playing with a crooked knee), but someone with raw emotion and inspiration would be a fair replacement.

No wonder umpteen posters give you shite...you are pedantic and use ridiculous examples to make your point........BigMart wrote:So, if we had a different skipper tonight.....we would have done better??
The role is relevent.....but not critical
Maybe luke ball who kicks winning goals in finals, can take over

No it wouldn't have had any impact but for Roo's sake it might help him play AFL level football if he wasn't burdened with the captaincy.....the team should look up to it's captain...not sure they would be at the moment.....BigMart wrote:But to answer my question.....would it have had any impact??
And we let ball go (a clear leader, already captain once) and he is performing well atm
I'm not interested in Ball...he is not a saints player...did you know that....
