We extract a digit, look dangerous, then a stupid bit of defensive play hands the Swans a goal...kalsaint wrote:We wont get to next week if this continues the way its going. Getting annoyed real quick with the lack of talk and efforts to protect the ball carrier or defender to release the pressure.degruch wrote:Slowest game of footy I've seen in a long time. Are we saving ourselves up for next week? Extract a digit Sainters!
C'mon Ross this ia one on one footy so player protection is paramount just like basketball in screens.
Commentators willing the Swans to victory, whilst Milne gets mauled, Raph doesn't get paid a mark...what friggin' game are they watching???

If you are referring to the player clash (Clarke and Fisher) when you watch the replay you will see Fisher should have received a free for the push in the back just before the contact.degruch wrote:We extract a digit, look dangerous, then a stupid bit of defensive play hands the Swans a goal...kalsaint wrote:We wont get to next week if this continues the way its going. Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

If Goddard kicks this we have Sean Dempster to thank.
There is no way he should have been able to get the ball away from that two on one contest.

A couple of interesting stats.
Hot outs were 9 to 5 halfway through the 1st quarter. Now they are 13 to 17.
Tackle count is 19 to 37. No effort = no clearances. No score for lack of forward pressure
