Even on one leg I think the Nick Riewoldt we know will stand up tonight and drag us deep into another finals series,he will get reward for effort and send notice to the other teams he's not quite finished yet ...

I still don't understand how he can determine the reward for effort - he gives his all - the cards fall as they may - until he gets help up front with another effective tall - he will always be playing against 3 opposition players and essentially be a decoy.

I'm hoping the marks clunk and the kicks go straight cause the effort he has put in deserves better than what he has been getting ..is that betterSainter_Dad wrote:Blasted Y keyMiddo wrote:Read it again , said reward for his effort , said nothing about not trying ...or is the tring ...?Sainter_Dad wrote:Coz he has not been tring for the whole season??

i will never question his committment and attack on the ball but seriously for a man who is payed in the vicinity of $1 million a year who cant kick straight. It is time for him to do te honest thing and hand back the captaincy. Make BJ captain as of tonight. And if anyone says he is injured then why play him????
BJ has arrived!!!!!!!!!!

how many goals did he shank last night?
what would have been the outcome (other than goals) across the group had he nailed them?
Leadership is a great thing, but not when your leader's continual failed efforts deflate those you lead, it's clear that leadership is a double edged sword
IMO some of the losses we've had this year, Roo's shanked captains goals have turned the momentum and spread across the lower tiers of the playing group - sort of "anti inspiration" - its a been ongoing all year
