Putting Dawson to full forward turned the match. Denied Carlton the opportunity to double team Riewoldt and opened up the forward line. A bit of unexpected tactical genius by ross

Agreed
He's a lot quicker than I thought.

Quick and a good kick. Leave him there
He was ok but don't push it.

We need someone apart from Riewoldt. That much ought to be obvious.
Kosi is at his best in second ruck.

Who would play full back if dorkson played full forward
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

It's worked twice against Carlton. I doubt we'll see an opportunity to use it again in the future.
Was a great move though, and Zac appeared to really enjoy it.

Good move but by god Riewoldt needs help on the G...the joint just haunts him......with so much space it amazes me....

Good move. The move was almost forced though as the Blues were playing all short in their forward line for a while. It has worked a treat against the Blues in the past but it can only be done if we're not left too short in defence. eg. Would not work against Cloke/Dawes with Blake/Fisher the tallest, gwilt injured and zac up fwd.

Truly a master-stroke by RL! Dawson worked well up forward
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

You beat me to it again, bigcarl!
I'm pretty sure we were on the same page last week post-match and I had a thread locked because it replicated your one.
Great minds...

Also, it's heartening to know you have a full back who knows where the goals are.

Caaaarlton should be used to it by now.
Zac kicked the winner against them two years ago at Jihad.

He liked a bit of trash talk while up there
I liked it, but it's one of those things that should remain a sometimes, else it loses it's edge.

Do you agree that Rooey needs a bit of help?

Was a nice move, but it wasn't the game changer. Taking off MG and putting on Farren was. Meant that Carlton could no longer pretty kick the ball around and waltz past our multitude of Talls like they did in the first half - when we were lucky not to be more than 2 goals down.
Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

Not all the time, just depends, and the coach read it well tonight.

The only masterstroke by our coach tonight was finally getting one of the ruckman off the ground.

That was the other masterstroke. There's room for only two ruckmen out of Ben, Kosi and Gardi.
But the need for another genuine key forward to help out Riewoldt becomes even more blatantly obvious when he is beaten pointless like tonight.

good for a bit of novelty value but the fact is he is our one and only fullback and was towelled up in his position hence the move.
not a good thing.
I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.
I know how Dal feels.

You can never complain when it works! Something needed to be done and for a change, the Coach made a pro-active decision.
I would have liked to see Rooey moved up the ground to the wing, with a bit of space to move and make his prescence felt. He continually got double teamed and also lost quite a few one-on-ones.
