In the summer, the game plan had to be altered......and some personell had to be ejected....not after it was made evident

When lenny went down, the focus needed to shift

For a variety of reasons.......ross takes responsibility for the teams performance......good or bad.....
That being said, he built a side, that should have one a flag(09) so he could do it again.

You know, it wouldnt be beyond reason that considering two of our players got crook after the team dinner last night and had to withdraw that a few of the others may not have been 100% as well. Certainly didnt think we had the usual run in us

Key personnel missing, talks of bugs through the camp, scrappy game, crappy ground, a feeling of 'uh-oh' hit me before the ball was even bounced.

Those conditions suited Sydney perfectly, their old guys that have been looking slow in recent weeks, looked normal again today.

FFS..the Saints have clearly gone after Pelchen to imorove our recruiting. Apart from last year our receruiting of kids as on average been below standard.


Bevo was kept on several years too long.

As for recruiting what we need...last draft we got it right. Cripps, Ledger and Sippos all look to address needs that we have.
I hope for more of the same in this years recruiting.

Pelchen was employed to improve our list. We will see what comes out of his appointment in the next few years. Clearly the Saints were not going to win the flag this year. Agree that the last few players drafted should be fine when they get their chance again. Lets wait and see guys.

Whilst I like Ben McEvoy and I'm sure he'll be a good long term ruck man, YOU DO NOT USE A FIRST ROUND PICK ON A RUCK MAN, UNLESS THEY'RE A FREAK LIKE NATANUI. .

The club may have over-paid for Ben with pick 9 but the club's priority was to draft the best ruck man available. After pick 9, our next pick was in the 50's and Ben would have been long gone by then.

It would have been great to pick him up with a pick in the 20's, which we didn't have.

Yep totally agree. It was disappointing to lose but in all honesty, if we've had've snuck home, wouldn't it have stilll been an average game and performance?
