You'd best explain why the cheer squad sponsors him and you end up with the picture before Zac Attack gets back from his suspension.saintdooley wrote:Tom Lynch??? the Cheer Squad sponsor him, and i have that sitting next to me right now.Mr Magic wrote:NO!!!!!!Enrico_Misso wrote:Don't forget to pick up your framed photos.
They are a separate prize that will be raffled off at a later date.
I already have the Tommy Walsh one and am waiting for the other 2.
Who won the Tommy Lynch one from last year?

You really think the club would knock that opportunity back?

Steven - SaintDebi
Clarke - St Michele
Stanley - Finna
Heyne - Stephen Theodore
Walsh - Eastern
Did everybody who won one get their memorabilia piece last year. I recall somebody was waiting for theirs (I wrongly thought it was St Michele).
If everybody got theirs I would like to propose that we either:-
1) give the 'axtra' (Tom Lynch 2010) piece to Calais to auction off for his upcoming charity run.
2) auction it off ourselves and donate the money to the Saints Heritage Museum
3) auction it off ourselves and use it to pay ftowards the running costs of the site.

Michelle definitely got hers..
given we've never had Lynchy it's odd-
any of the above suggestions is fine by me-
but would probably opt for 1 or 3 then 2..

What about you keep it for organising this sponsorship. A picture of Lynch is hardly going to get a huge amount of money anyway.Mr Magic wrote:And I have, sitting against my lounge room wall, a 2010 Lynch Framed memorabilia piece.saintbrat wrote:and Easttern and Michelle swapped- Michelle has her Walsh piece and Eastern and Raph are getting along fine.goodie wrote:We didn't sponsor Lynch last year, his allocation was full so we sponsored Heyne instead. Awesome night. Had a great time and met some really lovely people from both here and True Sainters.
Jamie Cripps is a lovely kid. Said he will be back this week playing for Sandy. He showed us his scars which are on the front of his legs and pretty much go from his ankle to his knee. Spoke about his home life living with the lads and how he is settling into life in Melbs. Really nice and polite guy...could have just squeezed him lol.
Dawson is a great bloke as well. Greeted most of the ladies with a kiss. Talked about his study etc. Interesting to note that his Mum reads all the Zac bashing on the net and she gets really upset by it and this makes him very angry.
Big Mac again very nice. He had to bend quite away down to talk to me lol. Mainly spoke about where he is from and home life etc.
Briefly spoke to Kosi as well. Again really nice and very funny.
I even saw Dempster smile!!
Great interviews with Harves, Berbakov, Lenny and Dal. They also had a "reverse" interview thing where the players asked their sponsors question. Gardi not so subtly hinted that this was the end of the line for him and he was looking for a job.
All in all, fab night and hope there are more of these in the future.

Very much appreciated
Have to agree with the above, also had a great time.
Initially was too nervous to talk to anyone, thanks to the True Sainters people for letting us stand with them at the beginning....so we at least looked like we knew what we were doing
Glad we summed up the courage to search out Sam and Jackson, both lovely young men and very polite. Very happy to have a chat, and tell me a bit about themselves. Didn't see any other SS people though, perhaps they like me, were too shy? Or maybe they could update you about Tommy Walsh, who I didn't have a chance to catch up with, and who the boys told me has quite a lot of sponsors....he was certainly surrounded with a crowd all night.
Both already have had their end of year surgeries, Jackson had his hand still bandaged up, Crocker had his shoulder operated on a couple of weeks prior. Both sort of looking forward to the preseason, they only participated in half last year, so they know this year they are expected to do the whole lot and it's going to be tough.
Also enjoyed the interviews, thought Peter Berbokov was very well spoken and confident, made a joke about the upcoming game....and how he still hasn't forgiven Joey for winning the game Rd 1 last year
The reverse interviews were good, Armo Gardi and Roo took care of those. Armo made a crack about how his sponsor has three daughters, and who would he like for them to marry if he could choose a St Kilda player. He said his oldest daughter would be a good match for him, Armo then asked if she was on facebook
The general chats were with BJ, Dal and Lenny....Very professional as normal. Bruce Eva does a good job of MC too, thought he did well.
Thanks again to Mr Magic for organising the sponsorship, it was nice to feel a small part in helping these guys on their footy journey.
I hope people join me in insisting MM enters himself into some of the upcoming raffles for such events, that he too has an opportunity to win, and hopefully enjoy a similar experience.
I was just really happy to be in the room looking around at the players, funny how some of them are taller than you realise, and others are so tiny when you're next to them

Wont be doing anything anywhere after some stuff i heard about Port Adelaide......matrix wrote:nice pick up!!
wonder if port know this lol
spose he wont be doing anything there come finals time
** Jamie Cripps will return this weekend for Sandy. Unsure if its Sandy reserves or their seniors. Most likely seniors cos the reserves are playing away(well think thats the way he phrased it). Terrific young bloke
** Adam Schneider missed the function (again, mean im yet to meet my own sponsored player) as he has food poisoning. Could be in some kind of doubt, depends if he gets on track later in week. Not expected to train tomorrow... Only other players to miss were James Gwilt and also Andrew McQualter who was MIA. Not willing to tell anything further as dont see it necessary. They were only blokes missing.
I may or i may not have recorded the interview they had with Sir Robert Harvey & Peter Berbakov

I sponsor Tommy Walsh.
Lovely guy.
Had a good chat with him.
Whilst he didn't say it in words, he clearly is a bit disappointed he hasn't cracked it for a senior game yet, especially having made emergency a few times.
He is commencing contract talks for 2012 but doesn't yet know if he will be offered a spot.
Says he gets offers all the time to come home and play gaelic football.
Says he loves it here in Australia but will go home once his career is over.
He has just completed his Building qualification via correspondence/internet.
Says the hardest thing about adapting to our game is getting used to the ball.

It would have been good to have met some other Saintsational posters tonight, but one would feel a bit foolish going up to strangers and asking "Do you post on Saintsational?".
What we need is a SS badge or some other non intrusive way of identifying ourselves.
