I think Lyon is great......do i consistently say that??
He has made mistakes.... Perhaps you might come across more credible if you were able to acknowledge this....
But to me, you just a rose coloured glasses supporter with no actual opinion.....just a comment on everyone elses opinion....and a patronising arrogant one at that....
Funniest of all is when you defend the afl and the umpires.....to sound holier than thou.....
I am critical, no doubt and at times get emotive......but thats following a club which generally disappoints, and i dont appreciate mediocrty well, and success often means being honest about poor performance.....on any level, recruiting, selection, game style, player development, performance

On smith
My knowledge on his speed was from draft day 2008...
In interview, lyon, elshaug, drain, sheldon or whoever it was mentioned that he was a quick hb who used the ball well and it was stated that he tested well.....
I assumed state screening, because i thought a player who was drafted 63 and averaged only 10 a game in the champs and played WA colts in 2008... Wouldnt get to the draft camp..... Never looked it up on the internet....
But really, is their any difference.....he was tested in 08 and the tests are exactly the same....and our club said he tested Well.....unless they were just bullshitting

Sorry i do have opinions but unlike you not on things that I have no knowledge. Unless you know who is exactly playing on who, how fit the player is and so on how can we have an opinion that is any more than guess work. You state your opinions as just about fact but they are only your opinions. As for me thinking everything RL does is great and he is some kind of god well you couldnt actually be further from the truth. RL may make mistakes but you and I dont actually have a clue what they are because we have no inside knowledge of what RL is trying to do with a player or the team. As for AFL and umpires, I have no idea what that has to do with anything except to maybe get people on your side in this discussion. Sorry but that wont stop me having my opinion even if the whole board is against me.BigMart wrote:I think Lyon is great......do i consistently say that??

So everyone should stop writing anything.....
Only ross and the staff at stkilda can post from now on......ffs
Isnt this a footy supporters forum....a place where people can express there anger, disappointment, happiness, pleasure....
Discuss
Tactics, selection, GP, recruiting, games etc......
Or is only OK to express the opinions that are allowed to be expressed
The leader is good...

You either cant read or are dumb. How many times have i said it is when people post opinion as fact that is really annoying. Of course we can have opinions on here but if dressed up as fact expect to cop it. Still havent seen Smith's 20 metre time. That is a real good example. Opinion then some story to try and make it fact.BigMart wrote:So everyone should stop writing anything.....

lol - there is a difference between someones opinion and them categorically stating their opinion is fact.
really......
really......
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Exactly. I may express the opinion that Raph Clarke is a very good player, others may express their opinion that his is not to AFL level.plugger66 wrote:You either cant read or are dumb. All very good, but when one of us states that something so subjective is an inarguable FACT, that is the problem.
When someone brings in one out of context stat and then claims their position is unassailable because of a statistic, well thats when people get annoyed.
Really why are some so obtuse over somethign really so simple?

And ross 'may have made mistakes'....
I mean, come on.....now you just extracting the urine.....of course he has...everyone has....even the very best
Obviously your just plain dumb if you cannot form an opinion of your own.....opinion are by tneir very nature subjective, not even ross lyon would always know if he has made the right call.....in his mind he may think he has.....results might say not....
So if you wont make a comment, because you dont have all the facts.....dont post on others comments.....because, you dont have all the facts....they may well be right...Or not

This is how the thread started. It is an opinion dressed up as some sort of fact IMO.BigMart wrote:And ross 'may have made mistakes'....

Someone explain it to me...
He is a kid developing, why not give him a full run at it, especially against against a group of other kids....he was not hopeless across hf....even if, why not gove him a crack across hb....
Ross has little or no patience with inexperienced players, certainly puts no faith in them....maybe thats why they have FA confidence and often go from talented kids to good ordinary (safe) role players...
Armitage, after a great game last week, was in for one centre bounce tonight, and played 90% fwd....
Both should do themselves a favour....

A lot of critics/media experts think that RL does not have faith in our kids. Not saying it's true, but a lot of people think it's true.plugger66 wrote:This is how the thread started. It is an opinion dressed up as some sort of fact IMO.BigMart wrote:And ross 'may have made mistakes'....

BTW, Wayne Brittain on radio said that Tommy Lynch wasn't working hard enough with his second efforts, chasing etc. I was a bit surprsied to hear that.

You will find that he isn't or at least not the ones I have spoken to. He's not a bad bloke but he's on a hiding to nothing with his allegiance to any team, especially St Kilda given the contoversial nature of his show.Bernard Shakey wrote:Ah Finey. Much loved by Saints supporters. Why?
