GRANT THOMAS

Post: # 1109408Post barks4eva »

If Thomas had stayed he was getting rid of Milne, oh dear what a FAIR DINKUM absolute clueless buffoon we had running the joint.

Players like Milne are the soul of the club you don't just show them the door.

Milne is a champion, a gun and one of the best small forwards in the history of the game.

Yet Thomas stated categorically that had he not been sacked Milne's papers were stamped, he was out the door and would no longer have been at the club!

What a FAIR DINKUM imbecile!

Had Thomas not been given the flick, Milne would have played his very last game for St Kilda in 2006!

Thankfully this ignoramus was exited out and Milne exited back in!

To all the nuffies, nongs, ninnies, numbskulls numbnuts and clueless cretins who still think the sun shines out of Thomas's arse, ( yes these vacuous ones still exist believe it or not ) pull your heads out of your own and get a FAIR DINKUM CLUE!

Milne is magic!

Yep, boggles the mind why any coach would want to get rid of such a dangerous small forward. They don't exactly grow on trees.

We can celebrate 5 years after the departure of that big, pig-headed-galoot in September, Barks 8-)

VIVA LYON!

Didn't mind GT, but definitely agree...couldn't believe it when I heard him say he would've delisted Milney.

Milney has become a much better all-round player under Lyon. Well done Ross!

Milne today isn't the one thomas had.

Exactly, I still like GT because at the end of the day he is a saints man through and through and loves the club, but Ross Lyon has got a hell of a lot more out of all of these players including Milney than GT ever could. Carn the mighty bloody sainters! Great win tonight!

Milney is way more than the soul of the club. how many people in vfl/afl history have kicked 500 + goals. Not many. And then how many under 190cm? The guy is a freak.

No Barks, he has a point.

The Milne under GT is most definitely not the same player as the Milne under Lyon.

Lyon improved him by 50%. Gave him a defensive side.

Made him a valueable TEAM player. An aspect of his game that was seriously lacking under Thomas.

GT was an amateur coach in a different league to Ross or other proper coaches.

Nicely put!

Lyon has helped Milne get the best out of himself, Milne has wanted to get the best out of himself for Lyon.

Now if Milne could only even half-perform in grand finals we would probably have some silverware...

One of my most replayed moments from 2010 was when milney kicked his third in ten minutes on josh hunt in the qualifying final. The build up - the roar when he marked - and then the deafening roar when he played on and dribbled it through from an acute angle. I just love cranking the telly right up and replaying that moment. The roar when it goes through is unbelievable.

Are you suggesting he isn't?

GT could have been playing mind games with Milne. Putting him under pressure to think about his game and attitude.
I agree Milne has changed since the reign of GT...he has developed.
Change is part of human nature.
It is OUR choice whether we change for the better or worse.
Think of crims who get out of jail and develop into decent people with jobs and families, and the other crims who just get worse.

Milne has been a good player regardless of coaches.....and he has adapted with the game....as good players do....

It would have been a poor decision to dump him....but we have made a couple of other errors also....

His entire careers has been better than good

AT the time, his effort was questionable... it's easy to forget but a lot us were calling for his head too

RL being the better cioach has got the most out of him but Milne deserved every bit of criticism he got back then
