Social Club half empty

I probably forgot to mention in my comments re Waldron, that I'd threatened to withdraw my membership if I was being asked to pay for a game being played in tassie. The other relevant point is that we sat near the bottom of the ladder in 2002 and membership was low. However, the club should note that supporters can also "change policy" Re memberships when it comes time to renew, and after a season like this one, our board may just find that SC membership will need to give more value....or not be taken up!
Perhaps a "model email/resolution" on the matter could be formulated? which SC members could bombard the club with? HANG ON!!!! Does this mean I'm becoming a faction fighter

Hey Dave in all seriousness there was a bit of "social" in the social club seating because people started to get familar with each other (larger groups). I have heard tons of peple say (after you had walked past)..... "isn't that the guy who sits in front of us starting the chanting...."......

There is no reason why they could not make te social club membership up 20%, bring back the majority of the area as unreserved social club area (maybe make the front 5 rows reserved if they want?) and offer more social club benefits. Then those of us who will keep up the soical club memberships no matter where we are on the ladder will keep spending the extra money and there will be a long term income stream.

Hi Solar, interesting comments. At the end of the day "it's our (the members) Club," and we are entitled to put forward concerns and suggestions. Getting the Club's genuine attention is another matter, as clearly, individuals are not listened to! Here's a couple of thoughts for discussion about how something may be achieved.

a) firstly, level heads are required and a reasoned, rational, submission needs to be put together. Collectively, we all have an interest in the long term success of the Club.
b) approach the Club in an appropriate way that will get attention. Individual emails to Michael Nettlefold could be a good start. An AGM related approach will be taken as an assault on the Board and should be a last resort.
c) a "workshop/discussion" approach with the Club would seem to be a simple and low key way of getting things going and issues addressed.
d) SS is a public site and whilst it may be read, it does not carry any collective weight, as it contains the varying opinions of many individuals.

The First Step
It seems to me that the first step is to identify the major issues that Members have (probably dozens), then get consensus on what, say, the top 6 or 10 matters are (easy to poll on this site).

An Organised Approach
Firstly, see how much interest there is in putting "collective" suggestions forward and what they may be. If there is interest, look to setting up some form of an SS Poster's committee and go from there - representing the Poster's group of individuals, not the SS Entity Site as such.

A Start
I will set up a Post on SS, starting with a couple of matters that I believe the Club should look at. Let's see what other SS Posters contribute.
If there is a lack of collective interest, that's OK, let's get back to footy things.
