Together with Fisher gave us a rock solid backline ... averaging 19 possessions this year !
Poor Jimmy ..

Lynch, Walsh have to honour their injured team mate by similarly taking their game to the next level - which was the elite level in Jimmy's case.

Almost 6 years ago, he played his first game in round 22 of 2005. His second game was the QF against Adelaide. He kicked two goals, the first with his right foot from thirty. One of the best second games I've seen. Hopefully, his replacement will quickly adjust to the tempo of AFL.

All the best in the recovery mate, looking forward to seeing him again next year kicking ass.
Well now that our worst fears appear to be confirmed, I'm more interested in when he will be able to get back to training and how many 2012 games he's likely to miss.

Hopefully for all concerned he's back a little earlier than anticipated.

Depending on what has to be fixed when they operate, I thought that it is close to a 12 month injury cycle.

Losing J. Gwilt for the season is going to be a real test of our depth.
He's been a key component of the back six for 3 years now, ever since he got his decision-making right, and stopped getting caught with the footy.
He's been as solid as a rock, at the times when Dawson has had brain-fades and Gilbert has had the wanders.
Dempster or Lynch look like the ones to step up.

Well that sounds like the standard time frame.

I did notice Dermie ask Doc Larkins yesterday whether Gwilt might have a quicker recovery due to his "Polynesian knees"

I get "polynesian knees" when I drink too much. They are not very supportive
