Sammy Gilbert back on track
I've got the impression over the last 3 weeks that Sam Gilbert is well and truly back on track after that 'minor upheaval' pre season. Early in the year he was getting caught with the ball a lot and giving away stupid free kicks.
He's now playing with the confidence we're used to seeing, giving us plenty of run off half back and weaving through packs without getting caught. He's great to watch when he's got his tail up and playing like this.
Keep it up Gilbo!

It was always going to happen. Even when the season was at it's lowest ebb for him he kept working as hard as he could. Never dropped his head. Good players who work hard will always regain form.
Riewoldt is working out of his form slump for the same reason.
Schneider will probably remain in one for the same reason. Although upcoming fixtures may give him the flat track he loves so well...

His kicking last night was pretty good also, certainly the best it's been all year.lyonhearted wrote:I've got the impression over the last 3 weeks that Sam Gilbert is well and truly back on track after that 'minor upheaval' pre season. Isn't it funny?
The team gets confidence back and all of a sudden they can "hit targets".
A tweak to the gameplan and overnight we have "injected some pace".
Reading this forum for the last four months I thought you had to recruit for these qualities.

it was fantastic last night to see gilbert play less self-consciously. he was decisive and kudos to the man, because its not easy to pick yourself out of the situation he was in.
