Raph Clarke = Gun
Great game from a maligned player tonight. His delivery was fabulous and he gave us plenty of run.
Much better player when allowed to play his natural game, which is attacking and free flowing. Wing IMO

The whole team looks better when we attack and play with a bit of flair. I had a couple of serial Raph haters with me tonight. They still bagged him several times! Personally, I'm not a huge fan, but gee he looked good in parts tonight. If only we could get that from him consistently, especially with Gwilty gone for the year.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
But he dropped a mark - surely he has to be delisted
Lance or James??

I will admit that I am not a fan of Raph, not a Raph basher, but I've never thought he is a core player for us... but tonight he was exceptional, looked good through the mid field.

I'm the same. Not a huge fan of his anymore, but happy to say that Raph was great tonight. Here's hoping he can string together a run of good games, and stay injury free. Would love to see what he's capable of.Armoooo wrote:I will admit that I am not a fan of Raph, not a Raph basher, but I've never thought he is a core player for us... but tonight he was exceptional, looked good through the mid field.
Agreed. The problem with Raph is he can look OK in a game and then have an absolute shocker for the next two or three.Moods wrote:I'm the same. Would love to have him string three or four games together. Has the skill but decision making sometimes poor.
Nice to see him attack the ball and shore up the defence with Jimmy gone and Sam Fisher with a corked glut.
Good stuff.

No doubt he's a confidence player. Very underrated offensively when he gets going.Moods wrote:You can almost tell with Raph in the first 5-10 minutes of a game how he's going to go. Tonight he was confident, assured, and that goal in the 1st would have done wonders for his confidence. If he turns one over early or is fumbly - it seems to perpetuate throughout the game.
Should be set loose on the wing IMO, but with Gwilt going down will probably be asked to shore up the defence ... not his natural role.

WAY TO GO RAPHY!!!!!!!!
He was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! We had a serial Raph basher sitting with us tonight and I made sure to give them a good thump on the arm and leg with every good thing he did. They came away from the game bruised and sore. Might make them think twice next time before bagging him!!!!
