So no Kerr
Heavy tag on another mid
Dempster to take Le Cras, where he'll find himself not even able to escape into the mdifield
Probably rotate a few on Shuey
Who else do they have to take advantage of their No.1 ranked ruckmen?
Jack Steven that's who!

Kosi's form this season doesn't warrant selection.Junction Oval wrote:My concern is that they will double team McEvoy and wear him down.
Cox is not one for an exhausted McEvoy to ruck against.
We don't have any "pinch-hitters" good enough to tackle Nat & Dean.
Why was Kosi left out? If it was general fitness, half a game would have been ok with me.

Glad to see Armo, Lynch and Steven retain their spots.
A big test for Armo and Steven and young Mac up against Cox and Natanui.
Really it is fascinating with kerr out who is at almost career best form.
Certainly WCE haven't got to where they are on his back alone but he is a significant out.
Our mids will have to rove extremely well.
Am concerned that big Mac will get worked over. Lots of bj and Gilbert and Roo third man up in the stoppages around the ground.
Prey that mac dowesn't go down with an injury or we are really up against it.
Really interesting selections.

Lance or James??

Kosi belting out One Step Beyond or Night boat to Cairo would truly be a sight to see.
Suggs might be pissed though.

Yup BB, this is our biggest fear. If Mac pulled up sore tomorrow, we wouldn't have a ruckman against Cox and Natinui.borderbarry wrote:If McEvoy were to pull out before the game, our tallest emergency is Geary. Not very bright.
We would look idiotic.

Don't underestimate Priddis. He is a very, very good player.SainterK wrote:So Cox and Nic Nat will likely win the majority of the hitouts, they are ranked first in the comp, but who does WCE have that is going to rove it?
Maybe a few, but their major clearance winning mid is out.
We now have the luxury of tagging another mid out of the game, just how deep does their ball winning depth go?
I am warming to the idea.
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Priddis up until this year has been getting heaps of ball but not that damaging with it. Kerr and Embley back gives him space and no tag thus better use. Kerr out is a big loss and puts pressure back on him and Shuey to carry the midfield. Nic Nat and Cox are going to beat who ever goes up against them so why not bring in a rover and let them touch it first as long as we get it second. Mac just has to compete and not allow them to smash it forward to space and he has done his job.
Emergencies dont play so you and me could be 2 of them. I agree our selections have been strange lately as we have won 5 of the last 7. Previously the selections were good bt unluckily we couldnt win.mad saint guy wrote:No point in tagging Priddis. He'll get 30 touches and 10 clangers regardless of who plays on him. This is a good chance to have 3 ball-winning mids in the center all day rather than constantly having a tagger in there. If Jones takes anyone it might be Embley.
Very strange emergencies. Three small negating players? Leaving Roo as our only tall forward against Glass/Schofield and McEvoy as our only ruck against Cox and Naitanui? Not to mention we could have brought Blake in to help out with Lynch, Kennedy and Darling to free up Fisher or Gwilt. I really hope this isn't another game lost because of stubborn, conservative selection.
This is the third actual contender we have played in the last Seven games
Contenders in the top 8
Collingwood.....loss
Geelong.....2 losses
Hawthorn.....loss
Carlton......loss
West coast.....????
Sydeny........????
Fremantle.......win. (no sandilands, their record withot him his hideous)
Essendon.......loss
One win from Seven

I'm not, no Kerr means Priddis could get Jones.dcstkfc wrote:Don't underestimate Priddis. He is a very, very good player.SainterK wrote:So Cox and Nic Nat will likely win the majority of the hitouts, they are ranked first in the comp, but who does WCE have that is going to rove it?

He's more of a ruck rover. We'll lose the majority of the hit outs, we've conceded that. I doubt having Kosi in would have changed that outcome. McEvoy will be there to create a contest and ensure WC don't hit to many to advantage. We are looking to have the extra run in our smalls / mediums with the one ruckman.bob__71 wrote:I think this will be the day that Ben shows the footy world what hes got.
