at the moment i cant post videos cause the kaiser baas doesnt work on my new computer but i just got a dvd of this match in the post today so here it is for everyones enjoyment
Surely one of the Great Games of the 90's and it was also Burke's 100th game watch for some magic from him in part 2

One player I keep seeing in these videos is Brett Bowey. I'd like to know more about him, as he played before I started following footy. All I seem to know at the moment is that he debuted along with Banger.

Lockett kicked 10.7 against Carlton one day against the full back of last century (Silvagni) including the match-winner with 42 seconds left on the clock.

Bowey....very good player, very big numbers for such a short career...
Very small, neat player....bit like mini, he was suited to early 90's footy
Went on to be a stellar player for chelsea for years, retiring in 2008 ironically in the same year as banger.....
We had 4 pretty nifty little rovers from 86-92......and boy were they little
Gotch 166cm......86-90, 53 games, 60 goals
Bowey 168cm.....88-94, 85 games, 79 goals
Craven 162cm.....89-92, 33 games, 10 goals
Krakour 167cm.....90-91, 13 games, 7 goals
They were all on the list in 1990.....4 players under 5'7" wow
Sounds like someone who would never be drafted today.

On another note does anyone else feel the commentary was much better back in those days as they called the play more.

The umps didn't go in for the big bloke much.
He did alright in '87
In spite of the umpires. I saw every game that year and he won us probably five or six games off his own boot. He couldn't not win it.

The old man reckons he was way better than Mini. Had the ability to kick some freakish goals within 30-40m a bit like Milney.
If only our home games generated so much noise these days...

Nothing will ever come close to the atmosphere generated by a rabid Moorabbin crowd. Gee I miss that place. Couldn't help noticing what a good player Dean Grieg was. That would've only been about his 10th game. A great talent that was never fully realised.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
That first quarter was thoroughly enjoyable to watch again after almost 20 years.
It would have been Plugger's last few weeks of sporting his mighty mullet.
What a blistering first quarter we had. Loved it when Dermie missed that open goal and then missed everything with a set shot.
The next time we played them, Nicky Winmar layed one of the most fierce, bone crucnhing tackles on Brereton and got him pinged for holding the ball. It was almost as though Nicky took out his disgust from the incident two years before in that tackle on Dermie. Brilliant.
