I ask a serious question when I ask this.

Could he play if he wasn't captain and how would he react under a new captain telling him what to do?

From the outside looking in his ego seems beyond copping with that!
If you want a serious answer then perhaps have a little reflection on the question.
Or it could just piss off and go to the filth forum with all the other criminals

Tony lockett, robert harvey......not elite

Riewoldts finals recod is perhaps better than anyones

Most finals BOG s of any saint

Most Goals kicked in finals

Statisically better in finals

No argumen
I'd say Lockett and Harvey are legends of the game. Unfortunately they don't have the prized silverware that puts them in the same company as legends with premiership medallions or players that played really well in a grandfinal.

It might be a mute point but I am making a distinction between legend and elite and for mine Lenny Hayes and Garry Abblet senior are elite. Roo is yet to perform above average in a Grand Final. To make the argument interesting you could claim Gram is (was) elite.

Or shaun hart.....or paul dear....or shane ellen

One game, albeit important one......doesnt define you...one way or the other

Was brereton a big game player???

In the 1987 gf he never touched the ball and his opponent was BOG

Was darren Jarman a big game player

In 1991 he never got a touch in a grand final

Carey's performance in the 98 gf, hocking, bairstow and a thousand more examples....it may enhance a standing, byt does not define one standing

History will show nick riewoldt as the best player of the current generation, by a significant margin......his standing in the best few in tne afl over a decade with ablett, judd....define him as the very elite..

When he plays well, we win....thats how good he is

"Enhancing the standing" is a good distinction of the point I’m trying to make and that is probably why Carey will be thought of differently to Roo that is if Roo never plays in a premiership.

Looks like Roo may have turned the "form" corner in the Roo;s game.

All of a sudden he is kicking ok again.

Looks good today against PA. His body language looks a lot better too.

yes it seemed like he was determined to stamp his authority on the game and he did that. Also better delivery and Lynch doing ok helps to
