Brett Peake

Post: # 1099131Post Con Gorozidis »

Im not sure what his contractual situation is or whether he is playing for his future but this guy is in our top 3 players right now. Not far off All Australian form. Really improved.

He has lost that old habit of kicking in the air and has started hitting targets inside 50. He should give Gram some tuition.

Jeepers.

He's improved a lot. But had plenty of scope.

Has exceeded expectations and actually have to say a pleasure to watch the way he breaks away at speed and even improved his in close work. Love the shaved dome - he looks like a nut job.

Anyway, don't want to be too negative.

Grammy just tweeted: 1 thing I find disgraceful, people who say they love the team but bag the crap out of players. Love to see u out there

Pfffft. I'd love to see all of those people getting hundreds of thousands of dollars for being pretty ordinary at their job. Princess.

Well salary envy aside, what is actually wrong about what Gram tweeted?

Well I hope he isn't signed for much dollar wise. Has been dropped numerous times, and put in some sub vfl performances when it's mattered.

Is it possible to love the team and bag the crap out of a player?

I think so.

I would suggest that his biggest concern is probably not that St Kilda players are getting bagged but more which ones. Him.

Some players get delisted every year. Because they are not good enough.

Some supporters just realize this mid season. Sometimes they are right, sometimes wrong.

Depends what he is talking about, not a lot of detail there.

Perhaps the boos when Raph was subbed on?

That was super ordinary.

On the whole though, Saints fans have been there through thick and thin, and they are a pretty loyal bunch.

Peake absolutely starring this year. He's found his spot and delivering.

Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Am a big fan of Grammy but I thought he was fairly ordinary tonight.
Did a reasonable job on Thomas yes, but missed a few opportunities when North had the ball

He's now getting the absolute maximum out of his natural abilities.

And that's surely all that we as supporters can ask from any player :)

Doesn't mean they should be playing.

Maybe he is. But he didn't give a rats arse about Troy Scwartz getting bagged. Or Fiora. Or McGough. Or Brooks.

He's worried about teamates getting rubbished now because he has been on the end of it himself. Him. Self. Whatever.

the 2 stinkers he produced in the 2 GFs + the overall slow start to the year made many ppl forget just how good he was playing in the 2nd half of last season

he needed to be dropped and work on a few areas of his game... most notably disposal, and getting the ball. He was and did.

Has played vvery well over the last month

The thing I like about Peake - is that he has never sulked or put his head down. He was dropped, copped it sweet, worked hard on his game & has shown massive improvement.

Players like peake do not improve. The opposition deteriorates faster than players like Peake do, hence he "looks better". IMHO
