Harvey - A coach in waiting!!??

Post: # 1095089Post St Nick »

Should Lyon start grooming Robert Harvey to take over the reins in 2014 ala Malthouse Buckley? I think it would be a great thing for the club and a marketing coup.

Don't you Collingwood types EVER work?

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

No. There's not much evidence that favourite sons are right for the job and not much evidence that R. Harvey is capable.

The amount of excitement that Harvey would bring to the club would be enormous. 2014 is still over 2 years away. It's not as if I'm saying do it now. But the groundwork should start now.

There's one big difference.

Lyon is 44 years old; Mick is 107.

Expect Ross to be around for a while yet!

I wouldn't be too cocky St Filth, your succession plan could yet still cost you back to back flags.

Tensions between coaches might be your undoing when it gets serious.

Just quietly, Harves will never be a coach.

To be honest he doesn't strike me as a senior coach either, maybe a good assistant but not a senior coach.

Depends what words are before 'coach'

If it's 'youth development'

then I disagree

R. Harver: brilliant footballer, but not the communicative type that coaches need to be.

Yes I think so too. If malthouse coaches elsewhere you would expect his massive ego to clash with fat ed's. An poor bucks is on a hiding to nothing. If they fall over it will look like he is cursed. I hope he takes over mid-season.
