I do too. In fact I hope the whole team turns things around. Who would hope that Gram keeps playing the way he is? He's butchering the ball adnauseum which is often resulting in turnovers. In today's footy you just can't afford to have blokes like that in your team. Same goes for Raph Clarke. I hope he can turn things around as well. But at the moment every time he goes near the ball we all hold our breath - will it be a turn over, a fumble, hesitancy that allows the opposition to tackle him. They are probably all great blokes, but whilst I too don't agree with FQF, I don't reckon he's too far off the mark if Gram keeps going the way he is. I also reckon Raph is very much on his last legs. Up until a month ago Peake was in the same boat, but has managed to turn things around beautifully. So too CJ. These last 10 or so games of 2011 will tell a huge story for a lot of these blokes I reckon.plugger66 wrote:Im going to say you will be proven wrong in about 9 days. Gram simply has to learn to kick, otherwise he's a liability in our team or anyone's team - meaning there's no way he has any trade value either.

Yep, it's as simple as that.Teflon wrote:In modern footy its not pace as such you need - you need to be able to hit a target. Gram cant. How many times do we sit at games going "where is that ball going?"
Will that improve?
No.
Can't kick the footy properly to team mates.
He has always had this problem. Our intensity from years past, combined with our ability to shut down opposition teams meant Grams long bombs to nobody were not so fatal and match losing.
Now they are.

saw him play for sandy against casey , was amazed how average he looked in that class of football, was astonished they picked him the week after !!!! He seems incapable of kicking the ball well , every kicks looks like a mongrel punt and because of this , his long kicks are lucky to travel 50 metres
I said at the end of last year that we should put him up for trade. Actually made a thread on here about it, if I recall correctly. Could have gotten something good for him.
Stocks have decreased significantly now.
Fact his other teams/coaches had Gram the one-trick-pony worked out about 3 seasons ago.
Don't want to sound harsh, but I think his performance in the '09 Granny came down to the fact the Cats simply left him alone.
He hasn't been the same player since retruning from injury last year.
He is most definitely lacking in confidence. His football smarts have all gone to the wayside as well.
It'll be interesting to see where he's at by the time the season comes to a conclusuion.
I agree totally. Jason Gram looks like a different player out on the ground. I would love to see some intensity from him but he looks like he is out for a Sunday stroll. Time for him to go so as the young guys can play.

This thread is as bad as I have seen on here
geez that cr@p annoys me.
Lets not discuss players and if we (a bunch on no name footy tragics on an internet forum) reckon theyre any good or not......on afooty forum??
Well...I never!...the temerity!!
FFS 2 things:
1. Gram cant kick for shyzen. Weve all known this forever. According to Hardwick at Richmond...if you cant kick they dont want you. But we do?? - time to wisen up.
2. Im sure no one at St Kilda really cares what we think.
Discuss away. Who wants a forum where the conversation goes like:
Poster 1 - "Gee I love our players".
Poster 2 - "Me too. They never do anything wrong".
Poster1 - "Maybe we should keep them all till the age of about....43?"
Poster2 - "Agreed. With so much love there surely the Board can support this".
Poster 1 - "Im off to beddy byes"
Poster2 - "night, night".
“Yeah….nah””
Gram has played well since 09
He missed a pre season and ten weeks in 2010, never got fit.....he did pluck over 30 and was bog in one game...
He has been inconsistent....and has fallen away with the team.....he is a free wheeling player, who does not fit the conservative disciplines of the lyon gp all that well...
As much as he is a whipping boy here....lyon rates him in our top echelon, and has stated this...

Time for GRAM to look for another club!
Time for GRAM to look for another club!
His turnovers and lack of a physical contest were acceptable in 2009, however the ability to hit a target has become increasingly important. Unless he can reinvent himself as a HFF and learn to chase and tackle his time at St Kilda is past !
Thanks for you r efforts but it is time to look for a trade and long term contract at another club Jason ...

So instead of a forum where we all love our players, let's have deep thinkers that want to throw away a player that finished runner up in a B&F, virtually won a Norm Smith, injured all of last year and showing no less interest than BJ or Roo this year.Teflon wrote:why?maverick wrote:Me too.plugger66 wrote:Im going to say you will be proven wrong in about 9 days. Wow, we must have plenty of proven outside players just ready to replace him.

It doesn't matter how constructive you are, some legend of the keyboard will still be waiting to leap in and sink the boot. I don't think this thread has proposed anything that we don't already know about Jason Gram...only the context seems to make the difference between Saint Grammy, or Evil Grammy.Old Mate wrote:The point some are making is that you can be constructive when giving criticism. yeah well, them you speak of are just as bad as the posters bagging Gram without being constructive.degruch wrote:It doesn't matter how constructive you are, some legend of the keyboard will still be waiting to leap in and sink the boot. I reckon at the minute, Gram is in our best 22 coz we don't have a lot of depth but if we are looking to trade someone then Gram looks the goods for trade bait.
