I still can not get over is the fact lynch plays backline for sandy! he's a friggin forward!!!

Big game for gardiner, lynch, walsh, siposs, johnson, geary. all a chance for a call up if performance warrants it this week (excluding geary, but it would be nice to see him back in the side in 3-4 weeks)

Raph the only one dropped? And after they started him as a sub when with half a brain they should have known he is not suited to that role.

Well he has been having more impact in the backline, just because players have played forward during their juniors etc doesnt mean they cant change.

I reckon those selections might mean Heyne and Cahill are in a bit of strife at years end

Role?

Not really, it just means he wasn't good enough to push into the best 21 Barry.

tell ya what, sandy should win a few more games in the second half of the year if marigliani and gallagher can stay on the park and find a bit of form. two very solid ball-getters at this level. maybe add geary to that as well.

in fact, sitting eighth at the moment with 4 out of 9 and 3 byes, a bit of luck with injuries could lead to a decent second half of the year and maybe lead into some good finals action for the zebs - especially if they have unfettered access to the saints players during september...

Third-year players in the reserves? Hell yeah.

Heyne has a year to go on his contract so he will still be at the club. May be a rookie if he doesnt improve.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Cahill coming back from a serious quad injury sustained in Round 1, back in March?

So he has had 3 months out, and is now embarking on his comeback.

The number of St Kilda listed players available for Sandringham means he is in the reserves for this week.

I believe he kicked 6 in a pre-season match for Sandringham (?) immediately before the injury, he is 192cm and still has a light frame.

So here's hoping that he regains confidence and match fitness after his lay off and shows us a bit - because we have a dearth of potential KPP players at 192cm and taller - and Riewoldt and Koschitzke are not getting any younger which exacerbates the problem.

In regards Stanley, I would not mind seeing him in defence as an extended trial.

200cm, 95kg and with very good pace, so there is something to work on as a key defender.

Some on here look thru rose coloured glasses - and pot at the wrong end of our player list and for the wrong reasons.

Footy clubs are also about development - including in the seconds.

Many players have been delisted with a year to go on their contact....clubs just wave the money if the know that the peson is no chance of having an impact.....if they remain, they take a spot on the list, and the club continues to use funds on them....physio, rehab, medical, coaching....

Cut losses, when you need to...
