But that is very much my point, I didn't envy them their success in fact I looked down on them because of their dependance on that success to validate themselves. At least the Liverpool supporters you had to deal with could argue a connection to the club. I was faced with waves of Man united and pool supporters in the East End questioning my club choice based on success. I choose West Ham because my Grandfather was a hammer and I choose the saints because they played the first game I went to see live. They got beaten by Geelong but the crowd was so passionate towards the saints that even when we were getting thumped, and it was about a 10 goal hiding I think, they were still cheering and laughing and enjoying the experience rather than just the result.thejiggingsaint wrote:How true Sin City Saint! How true! BTW, you mentioned having to witness the "Liverpools and man Uniteds" how d'you think it was being an Evertonian in Liverpool? Arrogance? the reds redefined it!! but I'm still here and still a true blue and a TRUE SAINTER!!!

At the end of the day we have absoloutely no control over how they perform. We support them yes, but after the losses I try not to get down about it because I tell myself it had nothing to do with me.
That being said at least a couple times a week I play out scenarios in my head of the ball bouncing right into Milne's hands and him running him to open goal in front of the filth supporters as he fist pumps the air and gives it to them. Then at the next centre bounce Lenny clears it to the one and only ROoooooooooo! Who goes back and kicks it right through the middle, sealing the match and putting it beyond doubt.
One day I won't have to daydream no more....

After celebrating hard with all the die hards, I broke down in tears in front of my Texan wife, because all I want, is to experience this with my team. She doesn't really get it (she's trying) but forum, I know you do.
Plase give me my premiership. I'm not greedy, I just want one in my lifetime. Please.
Cam.
That is pretty funny. People going nuts over basketball and you having a Saints breakdown moment much to the bemusement of the locals.
Top stuff. Classic post.
