Dismiss this mob at our own peril guys and gals. Sure we have had the wood over them but me thinks playing them when they appear down and out and with a coach who seems destined not to be there next year we would certainly need to bring our best game.

Not sure what's happened with them this year but have certainly been surprised at their demise especially considering they still have quality cattle running around ala Boyd, Griffen, Cooney, Cross, Gia ( ), Murphy, Higgins and even Sherman has been handy.

I think their depth is very questionable and unless they get big outputs from their leaders then we should win.

Melbourne showed what can happen when a side has their backs to the wall.

No Joey virtually ensures Ledger will remain in the side as we need another runner.

McQualter anyone? Puleeze no.

How far away is Geary??

Walsh in for Joey?

Ledger takes Joey's place in the rotations and Sam Fisher spends more time in the midfield?

It was mentioned on AFL 360 tonight that we will be playing our 9th "debutante" for the year this week. Has anyone heard anything official as to who that will be? Tommy Walsh I guess. They spoke with certainty that someone new will be getting a run.

Walsh probably should have come in for Blake when he went down injured. Similar type (I hope). In fact if he's half as good as Blake has been for us over the years, he'll have done okay.

Raph might also get another shot at it after good form for Sandringham. It's really now or never for him.

The only players on the senior list yet to debut is crocker, cahill and walsh.
Crock and Cahill are no chance so it seems walsh is debuting this week!!

Would think Walsh and Raph in

Mont out and with their lack of size Simpkins may be a victim of matchups?

Had a big think :? .and its pretty obvious we need more strength in contested situations in the backline and forward line, so the only inclusions would be Walsh for Montagna and maybe Raph for Simpkin who showed good signs for the future.. though maybe a couple more experienced heads might come back in for what is a crunch game for us this season.

So it wasnt our midfield last week but our backline. Looked clearly to me that it was a midfield problem unless of course the backline are responsible for 60 I50 to 39.

Al Smith would be a chance as a direct swap. He played well last week too.

OUT Sippos (rested), Montagna (inj), Simpkin (couldn't run out the game last week)

In Kosi, Raph, Walsh

Gwilt in th ruck wasn't the best look i've seen, so if Kosi isn't fit I reckon they'll have to gamble on archer or stanley - or is walsh big enough to contest in the ruck?

The midfield is another story- a bit harder to fix! Could be that RL may drag Gram or McQ back to get experience in there at the expense of Armo who tries pretty hard, but just doesn't put the icing on the cake?

Is Gram injured? You would think experience as an outside mid would get him a game in joey's absence.

Saw the Sandringham game on Sunday. The only players worth considering from that game were (in order of performance) Clarke, Walsh, & Smith

Will Johnson struggled, Stanley lacked urgency, Kosi was crook and ineffectual. McQualter battled and did the occasional decent thing. Gram got into the game in the second half but his weaknesses remained.

With Montagna the only definite out, then the obvious replacement is Clarke. He was outstanding for Sandy. He could play at half-back and we could see Fisher and Gilbert spend more time on the middle, along with young Ledger.

With this hint of another debutant, it would be Walsh, so who goes out - Dawson or Simpkin? I though Simpkin did well last week, but ran out of puff. However, he wasn't interchanged at any stage. If Walsh does come in, it will be very interesting to see who gets the chop.

If Gram can't fire a shot at Sandy in the next few weeks then he is seriously running out of time and currency is dropping by the week.

Whilst his papers aren't stamped, he's certainly not doing enough to warrant the football department pulling them out of the filing cabinet.

For the sake of Kosi and for the sake of the club I think he should remain in the Sandy side until after the bye !!

Could be injury (groin again), could be form, could be both. Reports from the Sandy game last weekend suggest he hasn't earnt a recall !!

I'm not sure why you're determined to see Armo out of the side....with Joey out that would be our three best inside, ball winning mids not playing (incl Lenny).

Mini & Casper the Friendly Gram put more pressure on supporters sitting in the 14th row than a contested ball.

Boyd & Cross would eat us for breakfast & may still do so.

Al Smith in for mine, Out Joey.... I'd like to see Simpkin get another go before Tommy comes in.

Basically the midfield is poor, and has been most of the season so far, so I think we need to be trying a few different setups , and although I like Armo's endevour, I think he is a bit too slow.
