No we are down 7 goals cos we are playing young kids against seasoned players. We did ok tonight til half time. No one really would have expected us to win this. we were paying 5 dollars.InkerSaint wrote:Simpkin for Ledger shouldn't be a game-changing call.
Not the reason why we're down 7 goals.
Will make the kids stronger dont worry.
Polo has terrible disposal, I'm not sure it's entirely because of kicking skills, but because he hesitates and overthinks every disposal.
I like the little things Ledger has done.
Siposs needs another forward along side him against a quality defence, he is too young to win a battle one on one with the likes of a Tarrant.
Does Zac ever play in front anymore?
Unfortunately they got a sniff, an unfair one, and that's when they go bang bang.

oh come off it. As if they dont care about bakes. God if we become like Melbourne and can only lift for a special occasion I'll give up.saintpeter wrote:nice effort for Bakes...pathetic
If we play the kids this is going to happen against top teams. It is all part of the learning curve. The kids will be better for it down the track its just the way it goes.

People surely must of read the signs when we debut two first gamers against the reigning premier, one being a defender against Cloke/Dawes.
Still trying things, still getting games into kids.
I had pencilled this one as a loss personally.

Yep there will be plenty of pain, but we have to start somewhere. Lets face it collingwood will play in the GF this year and we are just trying to blood kids. Big difference. Lets not be too hard on em.jonesy wrote:Not the worst performance considering the side we have out there. Fought it out pretty well....expect plenty more of this for a few years
All true but those umpiring decisions before half time and early in the third really are a bitter pill to swallow. We were likely to go down but they were real momentum shiftersSainterK wrote:Exactly Jonesy.jonesy wrote:Not the worst performance considering the side we have out there. Hey we all hate losing especially to this mob, but look on the bright side, when they are bottoming out we will be hitting the heights in a few years

just opens up all the wounds.................
So hard (as a supporter) to bounce back from GF losses
No REAL passion at the moment
Hope it comes back........it is as if it has been beaten out of you over the years
I think St.Pat knows exactly what I am talking about.

I find the scoreboard a little hard to take Joffa5, awfully familar.
You can say it broke momentum, but they were always going to come.
Someone else will just have to take care of them before we meet them in the finals

The two quick goals before half time
Collingwoods two quick goals before half time killed the teams confidence.
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

Agree, they had worked really hard for that lead only to have it snuffed in a matter of seconds. Rooey should have kicked that goal too.WinnersOnly wrote:Collingwoods two quick goals before half time killed the teams confidence.

Yes, and can we cut down a little on the umpire rants?chook23 wrote:very fragile thenWinnersOnly wrote:Collingwoods two quick goals before half time killed the teams confidence.
I know it's frustrating, but really, the Umpires making a few dumb decisions that didn't go our way is not the difference between winning and losing.
When you are trying to find out what's going on and people keep ranting about the umpires, it gets annoying.

See sadly your wrong ..... It did cost us the game, any ascendancy, any confidence, any momentum....Loyally Numbed wrote:Yes, and can we cut down a little on the umpire rants?chook23 wrote:very fragile thenWinnersOnly wrote:Collingwoods two quick goals before half time killed the teams confidence.

People say a couple of moments of borderline cheating don't win or lose games well unfortunately it's just not true. A game is made up of a number of critical moments, it is what people tell themselves because sadly they can't do anything about it. In the end after years of gross incompetence Jeff. G still has a job and the AFL couldn't give a flying f**k.
People will say if umpiring costs you a game you must be a weak team, mentally fragile. Sadly when the odds are already stacked up against you momentum shifts and the feeling of its one rule for one team and different set for the other all has an effect, doesn't matter if your a junior sportsman or an elite athlete the feeling your being cheated is tough to overcome.
