Thought this was something that umpires were meant to be cracking down on.
The umpiring tonight was absolutely abysmal, possibly one of the worst umpired games I've ever seen. So many decisions they just got dead wrong.

Mick Malthouse has got to stop believing his own publicity. I used to respect him as a good football mind until he called milney a rapist and then lied about it. and now he calls players cheats. And his captain decideds what questions are going to be asked at press confrences. I hate their cockiness. and Mick would hate all these traits in any other people as well

I have actually given up trying to work it out. In the melbourne game there was a stack of footballers on top of the ball on the ground. The ball wasnt moving and the umpire calls "play on Play on". FFS how are they going to play on

Most players now just lye on the guy on the ground and push the ball under them and appeal holding the ball. It is really becoming a joke as they arent trying to get it out they are trying to get it in and under the opposition. This doesnt help the game flow

You could not have put it better and I echo all you have said. Malthouse has gone down in my estimations because if the above. Sick of hearing and seeing him.

You know in soccer you can get red carded for diving. In footy we reward the "Swan" dive with a free kick. I don't know how Swan, Steve Johnston and Paul Chapman will get their kicks when the AFL eventually does something about it.

I thought exactly the same thing when it happened! It was disgraceful.

And that mark I thought Polo (?) held before it was punched out of his hands. It was a mark, wasn't it? I only saw one replay.

The only way we can stamp it out is to pay a free kick against a diver. Then rub them out for a week, just like they tried with tripping. Its definitely one of the ugly sides to our game.
