Became a bit undisciplined at the end of the quarter.

Could cost us a goal

Fantastic, Saints. Brilliant pressure and tackling. Where the f*** has that been for much of the last 18 months?
Lots more please and please don't try to protect this lead.

We did...one of the most appalling decisions of the year. They have to get at least one of those per Freo game. Disgusting effort from the umpires.

Never muted a game before but that was it. Just bloody call the game IDIOTS!!

joey, dal, peake all running their guts out. CJ playing like two men. Roo sore but still working hard. Lynch showing something. Milne doing great. Chipper is a midfielder in a backmans body. Gilbert almost back.

Love sippo, will be interesting to see how winmar goes the whole game. Macca still needs to lift.

But how good has steven been!! WOW!

Have to finish them in the third quarter!

Great half, effort is to now back it up in the second. I do expect Freo to fire up in the 3rd quater. We just need to give the same effort and intensity. Keep taking chances.

It got a bit narky towards the end of the half.

Polo cost us a certain goal by getting sucked in by Ballyntine. Free kick reversal.

Joey should have had a free 30 seconds before that. Running around with his top in Tarzan style too!

Overall though - looking GREAT. So happy.

Lynch looks like he belongs too.

At least he ran across the ground to pick up his lousy disposal!

sounds quite silly in the context of things, but just can't get the thought out of my head that the reversal may prove very, very costly.

The only thing (well, apart from BJ) tempering what would otherwise be sheer elation.

Fantastic effort saints. But the job's half done!

f****** fantastic first half sainters!

The BEST football I've seen from this team all year.

Only 2 downsides: Goddard, and the stupid free-kick reversal.

Upsides: Goals from the midfield, winning the clearances, putting pressure on all over the ground, fantastic defensive work, tackling, taking the oppotunities from Freo mistakes.

Really really thrilled with the quality of that football.

agreed... according to that decision cheap shots are ok, slight contact to the shoulder is a free.

Half Time.

St K 8.8 56
Freo 1.5 11

Steven been great, 17 disposals, number of clearences.

Fish, Gilbert & Gwilt with some good work in the D50 and rebounding.

Peake provided a lot of run & carry,

Dawson doing a good job, Pav been quiet.

Dempster only the 4 disposals, but Ballantyne has been invisible.

Special mention to Jones, who's been working his socks off and kicked 2 goals.

Worried that bj hasn't moved his right arm.

Really could be something bad.

Player wise, it has been a really very even team effort. And a strong one.

By the way boys - I know I shouldn't say it, but - I HAVE had a wager on you to win 1-39 points - just thought I'd say --- you know --- touching any piece of wood in the room right now...

Yeah bit worried about BJ...

Put footy aside for...... Could be a very serious problem for the young man.

FFS you cant tell from TV, could be a pinched nerve that will be released at hospital, could be a cracked vertabrae.

Who knows.

A reall shame.

RE Goddard I reckon he's allright and has perhaps been told not to move his right arm, as precaution.

My very early guess is 1 to 2 weeks out, to let bruised nerves heal.

Bloody hope so anyway!!

This is the first real TEAM effort all year, lets see more of it in the second half. Freo were busy covering our normal goal kickers, but now they will have to concentrate on the smalls who are finally hitting the contests hard, and getting the goals and hopefully Roo and Milne will get a bit more space this half.
