I've always considered these sorts of things as 'charity' events.

You're basically donating money, and in return get a budget style event.

To be honest, I'm a bit the other way. If I donate money to the club (whether it be sponsorship, membership, buying tickets to these events, whatever) then I'd be a bit dirty if they were spending it on lavish corporate affairs.

I kind of thought everyone knew that clubs skimp on these things in order to use the money on other, more important things.

The only thing that I think should be paramount, is that everyone that is there, wants to be there.
I'm cool with the low quality of any event, but I hate it when everyone in the room is doing their best to get the hell out of there as soon as they can.

That's when it's insulting to those who buy tickets.

The question has to be asked why it is necessary for the club to extort every last cent out of these people?

coz they've got their heads screwed on the wrong way around.

couldn't organise a happy ending in thailand.

On behalf of the St Kilda Football Club I wish to convey sincere thanks to those of you who attended the Player Sponsor’s Match-Day Experience in the ‘Crest Room’ at ETIHAD Stadium on Saturday Afternoon.

All post function feedback has been very positive
and we look to use it to build further on the program and experiences of those who support the Player Sponsorship Program for future years!
Whilst enjoying some fine cuisine, I’m sure you enjoyed the player interviews with Francis Leach giving you an insight to the rehabilitation progress of Lenny Hayes and a behind the scenes interview’s with Jarryn Geary and Tommy Walsh.

We may joke about it, but the lack of celebrities "liking" our forum is definitely a concern.

But does anyone care  :(

Its all about attracting dollars Johnny.

How many people do you see queueing up under a sign that says "Get Ripped Off Here"?

I don't mind giving the dollars, and would happily pay $400 - $500 more, if I felt I was treated with respect.

I wasn't this time.

there's your $2,000
so if you sponsor a rookie / deve player you more than get your value-
the value of meals etc at functions is beyond their control- although I'm guessing that can say we'd like.... But
try getting a seat at a function at crown for anything less than $300 a head...
it is a sponsorship- Donation -generally taken out by corporates or companies.

not generally attended by Children- so not sure why they would assume there would be any there-
Taking a child to the auskick Clinic yeasteday would possibly have suited them better.
ROFL.

You have swallowed the Club's PR hook line and sinker Bratty.

Try doing the arithmetic on production costs instead of hyper-inflated retail.

How much would I get on ebay for say a signed photo of Sam Crocker?

You both make good points.

If this is a reasonable complaint, and money is the issue, then I'd think there are things the club could offer that would cost them nothing yet add plenty of value... mainly involving access.

Good point.

How much would it cost for a signed photo of a player?

With modern technology you could take a photograph of a players or group of players with a sponsor and have it printed and signed within five minutes.

To the two kids I took along to the function that would be close to priceless.

With a bit of imagination and a lot less stingyness, there is a veritable plethora of ideas that could be implemented.

Perhaps those club staffers who never moved more than three metres from the bar could be utilised more efficiently.

ps , again
Perhaps those club staffers
they could start off by expressing the royal 'we' for starters in their CLUB discourses

and ... whoever wrote that puff pastry piece of ponce about excellent feedback (quoted a few posts back) is the first one who needs to learn the lesson.

To be fair, none of us know what feedback THEY'VE received. We only know the feedback posted on here.
If Grumps and thunda don't voice their concerns with the Club then how are the Club supposed to know there may be problem?

I have voiced my concern with them and as yet i havent heard one bit of feedback from them. To then get that puff piece from them really pisses me off as if they have time to go to all that trouble then how hard can it be to send me a reply.

Im not complaining about the fact we got a lousy lunch, im more pissed off by the face i had mates come in from interstate especially for this function and i had to sit on a completlty seperate table to them, even though i was guarnteed that we would all be on 1 table. Hell im sure everyone would assume you would be able to sit with your own guests  Just another balls up with organising stuff by this club. Cant get memberships right, cant get simple seating arrangements right, hell they probably couldnt organise a root with Kim Duthie at a orgy

How much did you value the day at?

$100, $200, $300?

Whatever it is, bet you there is mega-change from $1,000.

$1000 is a figure I used only for comparison purposes. My sponsorship cost a lot more than that.

I couldnt go as I had other footy on that day. See I do have a life outside here. I have been to that day before and it seems the food was better last time I went. There are 2 values I will give you. I reckon the day is worth $70 but I reckon the club would pay about $80-$90. There isnt much they can do about that.

once more these clowns have to play the man and not the issue itself...

i put money into the saintsational sponsorship fund to ..well...sponsor players....i don't do it to get a free lunch....last thing from my mind.....this year i won two tickets for one of my $15.00 shares.....if the actual cost of the reserved seat on level two and the lunch itself came out at 70 to 80 bucks a ticket ...then i'm still miles in front....

...if anybody sponsors a player hoping to to get their money back in freebies, then thy need to take a backward step and a deep breath.....it ain't going to happen...
