Okay, apart from group sponsorship arrangements, everyone paid $1,500 to $2,000+ to be there. That's not small bananas in anyone's language.
The question has to be asked why it is necessary for the club to extort every last cent out of these people?
It was said by the MC that player sponsorship is a valuable source of funding for the club. Why aren't the sponsors treated acccordingly?
For those of you who are used to nothing more special than a Nar Nar Goon pie night it was probably a good occasion. For the rest of us, it was under-whelming.
Why cant the club, in return for a $1,500 sponsorship, spend say $100 per head on the function? At two tickets per sponsorship, that's still $1,300 profit.
A decent two course meal, free soft drinks, a poster or minifooty for the kids, a signed letter of thanks from your sponsored player, a decent seat on the wing, these are all inexpensive touches that would make the day better for the attendees.
Definately reviewing my player sponsorship (separate from the SS arrangement), next year.

Australia...... Live it like we stole it....... Because we did.
Can i ask you what you think it would cost the club at the moment.GrumpyOne wrote:Okay, apart from group sponsorship arrangements, everyone paid $1,500 to $2,000+ to be there. That's not small bananas in anyone's language.

Any more than $50 - $60 per head and the club is being ripped off.plugger66 wrote:Can i ask you what you think it would cost the club at the moment.GrumpyOne wrote:Okay, apart from group sponsorship arrangements, everyone paid $1,500 to $2,000+ to be there. Well knowing what the MCC get charged for some of their fuctions I would think it would be close to $80 and yes they rip you off if you want your monies worth.GrumpyOne wrote:Any more than $50 - $60 per head and the club is being ripped off.plugger66 wrote:Can i ask you what you think it would cost the club at the moment.GrumpyOne wrote:Okay, apart from group sponsorship arrangements, everyone paid $1,500 to $2,000+ to be there. $1,500- $2,000GrumpyOne wrote:Okay, apart from group sponsorship arrangements, everyone paid $1,500 to $2,000+ to be there. That's not small bananas in anyone's language.
.
seasons Launch at Crown X 2 - $600
Best and fairest at Peninsula X 2 - $600
Memorabilia Piece $250- 400 - ---$300
------------
$1,500
+ Match day function X2 - $300 ~
+ in season Function X2 - $300 ~ which includes 2 level 2 seats which are ? $40 plus?= $80
there's your $2,000
so if you sponsor a rookie / deve player you more than get your value-
the value of meals etc at functions is beyond their control- although I'm guessing that can say we'd like.... But
try getting a seat at a function at crown for anything less than $300 a head...
it is a sponsorship- Donation -generally taken out by corporates or companies.
not generally attended by Children- so not sure why they would assume there would be any there-
Taking a child to the auskick Clinic yeasteday would possibly have suited them better.

Received this from teh Club this afternoon
Player Sponsor’s Match-Day Experience
Dear Player Sponsors,
On behalf of the St Kilda Football Club I wish to convey sincere thanks to those of you who attended the Player Sponsor’s Match-Day Experience in the ‘Crest Room’ at ETIHAD Stadium on Saturday Afternoon.
All post function feedback has been very positive and we look to use it to build further on the program and experiences of those who support the Player Sponsorship Program for future years!
Whilst enjoying some fine cuisine, I’m sure you enjoyed the player interviews with Francis Leach giving you an insight to the rehabilitation progress of Lenny Hayes and a behind the scenes interview’s with Jarryn Geary and Tommy Walsh.
Some of you had a good conversation with some of the younger players that you sponsor who were quite hungry having come straight from their training commitments with the Sandringham Zebras.
A few of you were lucky enough to receive autographs and photos with your players who were not out on the ground helping the St Kilda Football Club to its first Home win of 2011 against Melbourne by 20points.
I would like to thank you again for being a part of the 2011 Player Sponsors Program which is an integral part of the Saint Kilda Football Club’s Player Development Program and Player Support Network.
It is a fast growing program which will continue to provide you with inner sanctum experiences and further contribute to the St Kilda Football Club and allow us to give a bit back to its highly valued members and supporters.
We look forward to seeing you at all upcoming player sponsor functions and match day events.
Kind Regards and Go SAINTS!

Theres a closer pic of Lenny I can get if required..
That pic that is posted contains at least 3 long time SS members and one of the Admins of Saints Footy
Stinger, all jokes aside, its shame you felt Forum politics would spill over to a function like this. I can assure you that the mood on the SS table was nothing short of convivial and you'd have been made more than welcome. DOnt know who you were expecting on our table but no-one there could even remotely be described as a Forum troublemaker.

Hope you reconsider next time
