I don't really see why we should drop anybody. Once again, Blake looked like our #1 ruckman: far better in the contest than either McEvoy or Kosi. We could bring McEvoy back for Kosi, but I'm not sure he deserves it.
Most of the rest looked ok, although Winmar looked a bit overawed and Siposs a little disengaged. But both should get another go IMO. Jones is a terribly weak link with ball in hand, but does enough things right to keep his spot.
So perhaps Winmr out for someone: McQualter, Gram or Clarke. But is it really necessary.

if you are looking the player group in the eye....and asking for effort to help retain spot........Kosi has to go.meher baba wrote:I don't really see why we should drop anybody. The effort was there, just not the performance. Same as McEvoy in recent games. Yes, we can bring back McEvoy for Kosi, and we'll be in much the same boat. At least Kosi has the excuse of an interrupted pre-season and he isn't really a ruckman. Big Mac is supposed to be a number one ruckman and he is eclipsed by Jason Blake. Bit of a worry.chook23 wrote:if you are looking the player group in the eye....and asking for effort to help retain spot........Kosi has to go.meher baba wrote:I don't really see why we should drop anybody. not in a number of chases I saw at the Lockett end.meher baba wrote:The effort was there, just not the performance. Same as McEvoy in recent games. You want to put in another s.hit kick for one of the few who can actually use the ball?saintspremiers wrote:In McEvoy, Grambulance

Sippa needs a rest, a trip to Perth could destroy his confidence - he's raw and only 18 remember!
Nice to see Dempster get a break from the usual hysterics. Kosi's turn this week.
Too bad we still dont have Elliott or Swarze on the list
Lance or James??

Ok maybe not Gram then, maybe someone else.
Yes Sippa can kick but he only got 6 kicks in 3 qtrs today and didn't have the spark of his first two games.
A trip to Perth against a quality side is a tough gig for a kid.
Other option is to make him the sub and see if Crippa can contribute for a whole game.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Kosi has had no preseason and will be given time. He started well but failed to get reward for effort, he will get better. He crashed a pack and cleared a few Melbourne defenders at one point, he didn't win the ball but it has the defenders scared and takes a good back out from under Roo. Is it any wonder Roo plays better when kosi plays, take the second defender off roo, gives a target when roo runs etc. Unfortunately what Kosi offers is more than most at Sandy, Archer was probably the closest.
Yep watched it and think Macca is a better option going forward than Kosi. You must of missed last week and last year ...?PJ wrote:Clearly you didn't see the game a couple of rounds ago but yep that was 2 weeks ago so it's ancient history. At least Macca can take a mark and maybe kick a goal , Kosi gone !!

Yeah and Gram nearly got the Norm Smith one year and Raph played a great game in the prelim one year and Mini played a beauty in 09 so on and so on.. my post was that Macca is the better option moving forward if you read it clearly again . If you think Kosi is the answer moving forward then lets hang on to past glories...how many did Kosi kick over the finals last year cause I don't really remember him doing a great deal..?

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
Except one is 28 and going backwards quicker than a field umpire.bobmurray wrote:Mac got toweled as well so the difference between the 2 is not as great as people like to imagineMiddo wrote:saintslegendLH wrote:so clearly you didn't watch kosi in the finals, or the first GRAND FINAL.....Middo wrote:Yep watched it and think Macca is a better option going forward than Kosi. So looking to the future who would be the better option as these two and Stanley are about it ..? Your choice Kosi ..?bobmurray wrote:Mac got toweled as well so the difference between the 2 is not as great as people like to imagineMiddo wrote:saintslegendLH wrote:so clearly you didn't watch kosi in the finals, or the first GRAND FINAL.....Middo wrote:Yep watched it and think Macca is a better option going forward than Kosi.
