You know whats not soft? I arranged my wedding date around the season, October 29th i get married.
I didnt want my hens night or wedding to clash with my enjoyment of finals.. and the GF which i was pretty confidant we would make- well at least the finals.
Now im thinking it would be great to bring the date forward but my bomber fiance is not to keep. Go figure!

Geez some real touchy people in this thread.

We all miss games for certain reasons, but on a consistent basis Saints fans do not rock up to away games. Especially at the MCG.

Most of those probably wouldnt post on a supporter forum anyways, so im bemused some would feel so 'offended' that they need to provide a running transcript of what they did instead...

Away games, we dont turn up. Maybe thats why we dont get big blockbuster games.

A few people have missed the point here

Noones begrudging those who have to work or any one of a hundred different perfectly valid reasons why you cant get to games regularly. I got to maybe 3-4 games a year from about 87-99 cos of work and family committments.

What gets up my nose are people who say "Oh they arent providing entertainment value for my membership dollar"..or "Why should I turn up if the team doesnt?? They are the fairweather fans IMO

.

Hawks 50.000 plus members so would expect them to have majority of
support yest.
I for one am not prepared to give THEM my money at an away game
to help make their finances soar!

I was there sitting in the Ponsford Stand and the one word that kept going around in my head was PASSIVE.

Passive players who seems to have given up and no longer show that type of Passion both they and we need.

Passive supporters and I am one of them. Ditto for the Carlton game.
Someone else has mentioned how tiny and quiet the Cheer Squad has become.

The St-Kil-Da chant has disappeared to be replace by foot stomping. No noise.

Have been so shattered by the GFs and the events of the past 6 months, that we have retreated?

Poor excuses.

Should always plan around the footy.
Gee I remember goindg to some games at Moorabbin in the "good old days" with such a bad hangover I just stood motionless for the whole game :D
But at least I made the supreme effort.

Yes but in those days the players were also hungover.

The G is a crap ground to watch footy unless you are an AFL member, MCC Member or are prepared to pay a fortune for level one reserved seats. Why would I want to watch chess pieces being moved around from level Q and freeze my nuts off, when I can relax in my LazyBoy with a nice shiraz on a 60 inch plasma, and we still lose?

Im both and still go to the top level of the AFL members. I like looking at the play unfolding and it a great view. Level 2 is the best level at the G though.

To each his own, but the game means nothing to me from up there. I stand on level one at Docklands and usually don't go to the G because my mates are AFL members and I'm not. Went on Sunday and Stood in the Southern Stand absolutely surrounded by Hawks. Kept quiet in the first quarter, ready to explode in the second half. Kept quiet all day.

I sat near our CS.

Talk about a small and quiet mob.

A decent and decent SIZE CS would help promote the club IMO.

If our CS is this tiny already god help us next season.

Saints fans are soft in general. Very soft!
wrong. an adult is $21.30, and there are some families that dont just have little children, so hats another $2.50. yes, children under the age of 6 are free, but i dont think you will find many that young that can sit for 2 hours, so that keeps families at home rather than at the game.
faily ticket is $42.60...that isnt cheap for some people.

if you want a bigger cheer squad, join it.

I was out in the garden listening to it on the radio. I can barely watch any football at the moment. I'll go this weekend but, to be completely honest... I just haven't gotten over the Grand Final loses at all... And if I feel that way now... I can't imagine how the players must feel to choke against Geelong when they could have won by 7 goals and to get within a single point against Collingwood... sigh... Like I said... The wounds have cut me deep... It's no wonder the players are really struggling. I'm a social club member and I'll be there Saturday... buy my raffle ticket in the social club.. buy a meal & support the club financially... but I'm really hurting this year... The whole off field issues have not helped one bit either... People just laugh at you when you say you barrack for St.Kilda now... I hope the people involved are aware of how badly they've damaged the St.Kilda brand throughout the community.

To be fair to the 2 Saints players involved with KD they would've had no way of knowing what that would lead to. She was just a young girl who was up for it. This type of thing had never happened before though no doubt it will occur again in the future.

The NZ foursome were dickheads and must wear the damage to the brand from that episode. What they did would've have been quickly forgotten if KD had never existed but that's beyond the point. They should've been smarter.

Nixon has no excuse apart from having mental problems. Then again he would not see himself as having any responsibility to protect our brand.

Reading the pathetic excuses on this forum,
I think I can safely predict our attendances are set to plummet.

The fairweather scum will desert us in droves.
