I thought RL selected the dour role players not made them.

Havent seen the game, played today....but i hope he played well

If anyone on this forum wants him to succeed, i would be him....considering i taught the boy i high school and coached him from year 7-10....

I am not going crown him the next big thing after a 4 touch game like last week .... As many did ... In fact i think he played like someone out of his depth and with a long way to go.... But showed something

Very surprised given his development, that he is in the seniors, but good luck to him, he has tools.....no doubt

He showed enough for me.
Just needs more size and strength to be a decent player.
No A grader, but a 150 game player if the cards fall right.

It must be a big thrill seeing a young bloke you have coached make it on the big stage. One thing that stands out is his disposal by foot - both field kicking and goal kicking, a skill that is sadly lacking at the Saints. That is something that can only come with lots of practice.

I don't agree - good disposal on either left or right foot is seen by many Mum's and Dad's watching junior footballl in their parks at the weekend. It would be difficult to learn at 20 years of age if youy couldn't do it at 12!

Arryn has always had exceptional foot skills......good courage, clean hands

In a game one day, he slotted two from the boundary, one a set shot....one a running goal after a few bounces....calm as you like...seen plenty of left footed goals also, wrong footing opponents

He was an excetional midfielder with terrific evasive skills, dual sided and awareness who grew after year 9 and became a key fwd with those attrbutes..... But his marking and kicking length increased dramatically...

He had draw backs as a kid.....but was very confident and classy....

ah, i was wondering why you were pretty critical of him.

he was probably in our top 3 players today, not that that is saying much. mind you, it's pleasing to see a rookie show some promise.

You're going to love his first quarter Marto.

Had both the assists to Roo's goals.

Also slotted a couple himself in the game.

Was quiet after half time, but given that we rarely won the ball out of the centre after quarter time, that was hardly his fault.

In the final Q, RL moved Roo to the wing just to try and get him into the game.

The kid is showing glimpses that he can be special. Starved of the ball in the 2nd half but he was hot particularly early in the first. For pick 75? He's looking to be great value. Let's hope he stays injury free and continues to develop.

His attitude when things weren't going his way, he dropped his head a bit and spoke down to team mates.....

Chasing was a query to.......good tackler, hard at the ball....but like gram and dal, could be lazy defensively

Best things that happened to him

Going to hallam SC.....footy academy, Out of his small pond
Going to stingrays....... Not smashing kids in div 2 u16's

In these environments he was no longer the only really good player

Very impressive today. Had a hand in five (half) of our goals. Kicked two, directly set up two more and won the hard ball to set up another. He'll do more with ten touches than Jones could with thirty. No doubt he'll have some quiet games, but he should be in the team for the rest of the year. Right now he looks like the most skilled and most confident player on the bloody list.

Nothing wrong with not being an A grader.
Would have thought 90% of players going round aren't.
It wasn't meant a s negative, just to limit the adulation.

one.

Often star players show form early, even as a teenager.

Let's hope if this year goes OK for him he doesn't suffer 2nd year blues.

Question is will he fill out too much and reduce his agility?

As far as I can remember the only reason Sipposs was passed over till such a late pick was he was under some sort of injury cloud?

the kid is bloody exciting.those passes to roo were brilliant and i havent felt this excited by a saint in awhile. a few more pre seasons and hopefully he will be one of our new stars.(no pressure or anything

Putting it plain and simple...

If he gets dropped at any stage, I am not going.

This kid is showing he is going to be a great player for us for 10 years and more. He provides and option, he makes a contest, and he can bloody well kick it straight!

Ross... Take note of this, make him the forward focus and get him controlling the forward line. Bring in as many other kids as we can and get them playing together as much as we can NOW.

Move Roo to CHB, he will be much more useful there whilst we are struggling to move the ball forward.

Lets do something for the future now, and not when the current crop are gone and/or passed their best before we try and bring inexperienced kids in to replace them.
