Give him a go,he'll come good...just needs time...and people to lay off him. How good was he in 2002.....maybe he will dominate CHB if we move him back like 02. He'll be a star, mark my wordssavatage wrote:Kosi is good because he can...ummm....plugger66 wrote:If McEvoy aint the answer can anyone tell what Kosi is the answer to. He ia actually a terrible ruckman with no upside. Ben is 21 and at least still has an upside. Plenty to go or not being the answer before Ben.
Ben McEvoy is not the answer

Yes, we're stuffed at the moment without Gardiner, but I've never seen so much expectation on a 21-year-old. Some total baby out with the bathwater stuff here. It didn't help Ben today that the hitouts he did win were often sharked by the Hawks mids... they've had to get good at this with having such crap ruckmen themselves.
Our midfield was destroyed today. Doesn't help Ben's cause in the slightest.

I'm with you, it didn't look like Ben rucked the majority of the game today to me.plugger66 wrote:I am unsure a coach can make players jump higher. Anyway I may be on my own here by the looks of it but I reckon Ben has had a very good year. I would be blaming the ball winners more than the ruckman. Plenty of sides have won first possesion after losing tap outs. We did constantly in 2004-06Junction Oval wrote:Give him the rest of the year and see what improvement there is, then make the call on whether to keep him or not.
I would have thought that with all of the replay footage that Clubs have today, Kingy should be able to show him what needs to be done.

Just because everything is not going right for the Saints everyone is out to batter them down further and having Saints followers doing this is no help whatsoever. If you are a loyal Saints member/supporter now is the time you need to step up and be supportive and encouraging. You are required in a time of need and it is NOW. We played terribly today but for goodness sake
stop the bashing. As I have said the only way is up.

There's barracking and there's analysis.Saints Angel wrote:

We're all barrackers. It's just that the analysis is a little depressing for the time being.
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Jamar, all australian after about 5 years of being one of the shittest rucks ever. Mumford overweight list clogger, made sydney competitive, Dean Cox years of nothing -premiership ruckman etc. etc. play kids , give them time reap rewards. Sack him third round pick or SFA. Buy a second ruck with a bit more development and don't expect to much for a couple of years out of Ben.
