Once again the AFL expect the players to be doctors. He was not in the hands of the trainers so is fair game. Disgrace!

So you had no problem with what Brisbane players did to Rooy. Joey was an idiot and should have focused more on getting clearances than bumping an obviously injured player.Solar wrote:Once again the AFL expect the players to be doctors. Stop being a tool for once. How many weeks did Jack Riewoldt get last year for punching Pears broken hand?plugger66 wrote:So you had no problem with what Brisbane players did to Rooy. But they changed the rules after what happened to Rooy. Joey new that, I new it and you know it. It is dangerous to hit an injured player however slightly. Joey could see he was injured. Why the hell would he do it. It certainly aint tough. Dont worry if the boot was on the other foot there would have been a 5 page thread now asking for the Carlton player to be hung.White Winmar wrote:Hang on a minute P66, did you see how slight the contact was? Nor was it repeated, as in what the lions did to Roo. A week for that? Good grief!
Was it broken during the game? By the way why I a tool. Is it because I see things clearly and not through fogged up eyes like some.CURLY wrote:Stop being a tool for once. No its because you try to justify blatant bulls*** with more bulls***. For Joey to get a week for that is comical at best. Zac got a week for a tummy punch yet a WC player slams one into Heath hOcking and nothing no charge. Its becoming more and more of a joke.plugger66 wrote:Was it broken during the game? .Seven players have been fined for taking part in a quarter-time melee that started when Montagna's teammate Justin Koschitzke again bumped Curnow, after he had returned to the field with his shoulder strapped.
Carlton skipper Chris Judd copped a double fine for starting the melee and teammates Heath Scotland, Marc Murphy, Aaron Joseph and Mitch Robinson also copped financial sanctions.
Also fined were Saints Jason Gram, Sam Gilbert and David Armitage

Read the rule book. You will feel better. Zac deseved a week. Joey gets one for being very stupid.CURLY wrote:No its because you try to justify blatant bulls*** with more bulls***. Well in that case the week is prolly deserved. As plugger said we all screamed blue murder when it happened to Roo. There was no rule about it then but there is now so what cause for complaint have we got apart from someone saying the AFL hate us and always change the rules after St Kilda players get hurt?stkildathunda wrote:When he was initally running off the ground.. What a disgrace. Anyone who thinks what Joey did was wrong is a fool.
If you're on the football field and you knock someone down, you knock them down again if you can, and again and again. If they appear hurt, but still going, you hit them again. Top level football is ruthless, if you're running through the battlefield you're fair game.

I agree. Cant work out why GC players didnt whack Andrew Raines as he was coming off Saturday night. Also Rooy deserved it against Brisbane. It was very tough by Joey. Should be more of it.Beno88 wrote:What a disgrace. Anyone who thinks what Joey did was wrong is a fool.

So Farren should have jumped on Selwood after he was knocked out? Same with Jack Riewoldt... Maybe the West Coast guys should have laid into Jono Brown when he had his face knocked into a million pieces....Beno88 wrote:What a disgrace. Anyone who thinks what Joey did was wrong is a fool.

Im sick and tired of people saying Zac or Joey deserved a week for being stupid. FFS there is no rule against that. If your even comparing what Joey did to what happened to Roo your also kidding yourself. The Brisbane players didnt just do it once they continued until Hamill and co intervened. Even still Roo was fair game as was Curnow. Get off the ground if your hurt.
