Raph's CLANGER
How long had he been on the ground?
One minute.
Loses sight of the ball
Turnover

Yep, thats the typical response to a raph critique. Look ,he makes continual critical turnovers with the odd ridiculous free given away. I mean, he has no place in the future side. He has had EIGHT years to get it right. I do actually love him, but .....reality.georgie girl wrote:There were so many clangers tonight by so many players, why highlight just the one?!

I'll paste my thoughts from another thread:
Shouldn't play again for us, and would be great to get something for him if GWS are interested. Nice guy, but too many errors.
For his time on ground tonight he cost us three times. Minute left in third, Riewoldt to McEvoy for a shot on goal but Raph gets someone high when the blue didn't even have the ball, we don't get a shot at goal. Fast forward 40 seconds and Raph's in the back pocket giving a mark to Setanta. He turns his back on the mark and Setanta plays on improves the angle. Four minutes into the last he drops a CHEST mark which halts our forward thrust, less than a minutes later Setanta goals.
Here's hoping Lynch for Raph next week.

Courage is one thing, Raph has that. But a little skill is needed as well to make the most of it.
I still feel sad that we gave up Goose and X for pretty much nothing yet kept Raph

It's time we moved on.
Raph is NOT up to it.
Why do we continue to trot him out.
I'm pleased that we have Sipposs a go.
And I would far sooner we gave Simpkin or Lynch as run ahead of Raph.
Why?
Because when Raph makes critical errors that cost us the game (eg the Richmond game) you know that is just Raph and always will be Raph.
But at least if a new kid struggles, it is at least a game under their belt, and a learning experience that will ultimately improve them.
Raph is NOT going to improve.

Stop with the excuses - he has been given enough time to develop. I'd rather a youngster come in for him that makes mistakes through inexperience - at least their upside could potentially be far better.
I'd give his spot to a Simpkin or Lynch. He should stay in the 2's & help out the younger blokes with their development.

I'm sorry for not reading your post before I posted mine -I pretty much said what you just said, at least we know we're on the same page!Enrico_Misso wrote:It's time we moved on.

Dont knock Raph he is important for our future. If he continues to play we will certainly be eligible for priorority picks in the next two drafts.
We coukld actually get some players that could run out of sight on a dark night.
Besides if Ross didn't play him he may release those photo,s of him in a compromising position with a sheep.

Would not get drafted by another club if we delisted him.
I don't know a football supporter from another team in the AFL who thinks he is any good.
Find me a non-St Kilda supporter who believes R Clarke is useful in any way.
His performance was poor against Carlton.
He might do some good things, but he lacks the basic ability to make good decisions under pressure and that is critical at AFL level.
