Ledger get any game time?
Oh yeah sorry forgot... Um I think someone posted that they expect him to be in the side in the next few weeks...

Personally, and its just my opinion - Really think he is sometime away from playing seniors - Which is to be expected. Doubt he will play a game this year... today was his first back from injury.

Got some game time.. Has a nice touch about him - Seems to know how much time he has, and surrounding pressure.

But he isnt overly tall, or built. And the natural progression of things is that players are in front of him experience and age wise.

My opinion only of course. In a nutshell, will be make an impact this year, most likely not... But that would very much be the internal expectation... Seems the external one might need addressing... Or I could be completely wrong, as i said, i game back from injury.

Seven year rebuild you reckon?

My daughter will be eight years old and tagging along to games.

If I can bring myself to introduce her to the house of pain we call a football club.

Agree with most of what Spinner had to say.

Lynch was good, but not in line for a call up.

Raph will probably play on Monday night.

Sippos looks a natural and is an excellent kick.

Don't read too much into Gamble's 6 goals, he didn't have much opposition.

Tommy Walsh is developing nicely. His spoiling is excellent and his field kicking usually hits the target, but he was terribly slow today.

Winmar did a couple of nice things in a quiet game for him. Seems a bit timid, although he did cop a belting standing under hanger in the second quarter.

Polo an honest contributor.

Simpkin is hard to comment on because he seems to do things without you noticing.

Peake was Peake. Not up to AFL.

Eddy was busy, but will never get elevated to the senior list.

Ferguson did a couple of nice things.

Tom Ledger has a lot of class and looks the goods in what I think was his first game for Sandy.

Stanley was a lot more lively this week, kept going and contributed for the whole game. Probably the best game I've seen him play.

He went off in the second quarter with what may be a broken arm
Before then he was busy and still won't make the senior list again.

Gamble got 6 goals but I would like to know if he pressured defenders because that was pretty much non-existent while playing in the AFL.

St Kilda forward Ryan Gamble kick-started VFL partner Sandringham with four first-quarter goals against his old side Geelong at Trevor Barker Oval yesterday.
Gamble finished with six while in-form Cats forward Mitch Brown bagged five in the 31-point loss.

Zebras coach Brett Lovett praised Saint Tom Lynch's ball use who continues to impress for AFL selection.

"I thought Raph Clarke was good, too. He won a lot of the footy back for us, he used the ball well and was quite courageous too," Lovett said.

But in a blow, Saints rookie Robert Eddy was taken to hospital with a suspected broken wrist.

Raph was flattened several times and would minutes later be again putting himself into the pack.

I agree with most reports on here - but additions for what it is worth:

Gamble's screamer at the end was an absolute beauty. Thought his run was harder off the ball - good to see. Should play.

Polo - for his second game (?) was relatively impressive. Always getting into action and generally doing something good with the ball - and kicked two.

Siposs - very nice player. Penetrating kick and gets around the ground well. Strong in the tackle. Got a few strings to his bow I reckon.

Ledger - for first game back was impressed with his speed and 'quick skills'. Should have bagged a running goal bursting out of centre.

Fergusuon - showed some signs but was beaten yesterday.

Simpkin - absolutely love this guy. Sledge hammer spoiler and one tough dude. Finds time under pressure and has more speed than I first thought.

Walsh - still gives away unnecessary free kicks but skills really coming on and looks to show run through middle occasionally.

Lynch - excellent down back, great target kicker and solid in air.

Clarke - generally speaking a thumbs up. Some brave arial work and got a lot of it. But yes gets caught.

Stanley - won the ruck in the second half and was generally useful around the ground.

Archer - god he's big! Quiet game but some nice launching.

Peake - has got to do a lot more. Sometimes doesn't look like he knows where he's going when he's off.

General thought; impressive backline work between the Tommys. They work really well together and think this is an exciting area for development.

Great to hear Stanley bounced back. Has been much maligned and with our current rucking crisis it is urgent he starts to have a dip.

Good news.
