Zebs should be home, Gamble just kicked his sixth goal late in the last.

Listened to the final qtr.

Gamble 6 goals

Clarke - commentator said he had "been in everything"

Siposs got mentioned, same with Winmar

Maybe Gamble up forward with Schneider into the midfield???

Lance or James??

I popped along to Sandy this afternoon, and enjoyed the match for the most part. The mark by Gamble was a beauty, and while there was a lot to be happy about, I was a WEE bit disturbed at how we allowed Geelong to work up a decent head of steam toward half-time, and then continue to build momentum in the 3rd 1/4. We'd had 'em on toast and let them come to within a kick or two of our score. Thankfully, we ran the game out pretty well, and I hope to see some of these players getting their chances during what is shaping up to be a season of transition for the Saints.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience today, having a chat to some Sainters AND seeing a side I support kick more than one goal in a half of footy

I thought that Clarke played reasonably well, though he had my heart in my mouth at times, with his (apparent) lack of urgency, and was well beaten for a mark and goal in the 3rd 1/4. Gamble? well I guess six goals would be a clear statement to the selection panel....BUT can he do it where it COUNTS? on an AFL stage. At times it was like watching the Saints (especially when the ball was being kicked backwards  ) and uncomfortably so when Geelong started eating into our lead!
I reckon Tommy Walsh could be worth a go in the firsts....have him up forward!

How old is Magner?

Been very consistant this year. Sandy are having a winning season which is great.

Hopefully we can pick on form and promote some guys for this week.

How did Ledger go?

To be fair, he has played mostly as a KPP, which he isn't.

Against Richmond, first quarter, he played as a true third forward with Roo and Gilbert, and looked OK.

He may never make it back in, I just wouldn't say he has failed when it comes to playing as a third, because it never really eventuated much.

I agree. When we recruited Gamble most were expecting the forward line to consist of Roo, Kosi, Gilbert, Milne, Schneider and Gamble. If that was the line up Gamble would be getting the 4th defender at best. In at least one of the games he played he was named at full forward. He will never be a KPP. If we were to use him as a 4th or 5th forward I still think he could be worth it.

Usually 4 or 5 players in there, only one in the red white and black

Bit of a run down. Only a few things, find it difficult to even see the numbers on the back of players when the ball is deep!

Thought Lynch played really well. Played back for three quarters and had a stint up forward in the 2nd(?). Really presented up to the wings when there. Second half really controlled out of defence in dizzlly conditions... Always hit a target today, and it was usually the right target.

Sippos seems like a real talent. Raw, and slim... but has a bit of height on him. Good medium size. Can kick and read the play. Moves like a footballer that is athletic as opposed to the opposite.

Clarke was in everything. Had a bunch of it. Held his marks and was confident to run, demand the ball and deliver. Twice maybe held onto it too long and got caught. Really seems to invite pressure right to the very last second before he disposes.

Gamble, well six goals is a massive effort. Took some brilliant marks... A couple of high one on ones.. Similar to one or two he has taken in saints colours.. Flashes into the game and scores... I would assume a senior call up.

Walsh just gets the spoil in all the time, as does Clarke (an area he is very underrated in). And he has supreme confidence by foot. A few times ran into space across ground, became the option and delivered into the forwardline. Just needs to learnt the creative forward/leading/drawing the ball skills and he is ready... Needs time in the forward line. Kicking and spoiling are now excellent at his stage of development. Or maybe he will just be a defender.)

Winmar... Good mover. Didnt notice him as much. Dunno if it was just me or if he was quiet.. Probably just me.

Polo seemed to be played out of the middle a fair bit. Did some nice things in close. A lot taller than I thought....

Stanley played really well IMP. Was getting his hand to the tap against a good ruck outfit. Took a few marks, not many. Impressed with his ground level efforts. Had a good patch in the third I think.

Simpkin moves well. Mitchell Brown played extremely well... Couldnt tell you who was playing on - My fault I didnt take notice. Part of a really good defensive outfit.

Peake did alright. Nothing brilliant.
