Will soft supporters stick with our club
After reading the crap written on here in the last 2 days I really worry about our club. Hopefully some on here dont represent our supporter base because by the sounds of it we will struggle for any young support in the next 5 years whilst we rebuild.
Dont be soft and stick by the club otherwise we are stuffed financially and then it is really over.

I'd been a Saints "follower" for many years, going to games but not buying a membership. I went to the round 22 game against North Melbourne at the dome which was TWATson's final game as coach. As per usual that year, we played well but missed a bagful (Sean Charles the main culprit) and the roos overan us at the end. When Nathan Burke and the team came down to the Lockett end to acknowledge the supporters (TWATson had slinked off alone down the race) I said to my daughter "well kid, we'll have to put our money where our mouths are and take out a membership, they need us now more than ever" While it's provided me with a fair amount of pain at times during the last eleven years, I've not regretted a MINUTE!!!! GO SAINTS!!!! and to hell with the rest!!
St Kilda forever ( God help me)

True. But some of the comments here are not from St Kilda supporters but from trolls. It's pretty obvious IMO.plugger66 wrote:After reading the crap written on here in the last 2 days I really worry about our club. Yeah, I remember Burkey's apologies for the harrowing 2000 season. I remember feeling extremely pessimistic that season. It was our first year of having Colonial Stadium (Jihad Stadium) as our home ground and we were drawing very small crowds to games.
If you think about, we've come a long way since then.

yeah, 2001 was an interesting season. it definitely didn't bring what we hoped, but the players who arrived brought us some joy.thejiggingsaint wrote:Hey Sainternist! What a season we had to follow 2000 "the ride of our life" When those prats were on the front page of the Herald Sun cutting up their memberships I upgraded to social club!!!!
i'm really starting to miss the hammer and the g-train with the lack of potency in our foward line today.
don't remember that herald-sun front page, probably because i don't read it haha... but it sure as hell doesn't surprise me. kudos to you getting a social membership. i was dwelling over losing my sc status last year, but signs are looking good for me to upgrade again with the inevidible exodus from the bandwagon
god, i hate fickle supporters.
STICK TIGHT!

I'm there every year regardless......i'm well used to them not achieving....clarky449 wrote:Will still go to the games and pay up every year whether we rebuild or not, hope alot of others do the same.
I still remember the start of the 2000's at the Dome with less than break even crowds and once we started winning then more and more supporters jumped aboard...I'm sure it happens at all clubs.....
I guess we'll get to find out soon enough how many fair weather supporters we do have....
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

From memory we dropped to about 15-17k members during the Watson years.
People ALWAYS like to back winners.
Expecting us to have 35k + members if we are bottom four is just not gonna happen.
If we tumble down the ladder, so will our membership, simple as that.
How many years did we lock Centrebet in for?
